Doug has been a Board Certified Specialist in Business and Consumer Bankruptcy since 1987. After graduating from Yale Law School and earning an L.L.M. from Harvard Law School, Doug accepted a position as professor of law at the University of Tennessee Law School and stayed for 15 years, teaching such classes as Debtor-Creditor, Civil Procedure, Municipal Law and Commercial Law. Doug practices extensively in the area of bankruptcy. However, he still has a love for teaching – he taught a course in bankruptcy at the North Carolina Central University Law School in 1999 and was an adjunct professor, teaching civil procedure, to NC Central’s first-year night school law students from 2000 to 2015. He is now in sole practice which will ensure that his clients receive his personal attention through their entire case.
