Sheryl T. Friedrichs

I saw Ms. Friedrichs for a consultation on my marital separation. She explained the process of separation and divorce and the choices I had before me. My husband had given me a separation agreement and she walked me through the document, explaining what was typical for North Carolina so that I woul...d have a sense of context and a better perspective on what was being offered. She caught errors in the document and pointed out parts of the offer that were generous, as well as parts that were problematic or potentially unfair to me. She then explained why and gave me advice on how to address those issues. I was still reeling from the heartache of separation and in no shape to understand documents that, under the best of circumstances, shouldn't be signed without the help of an attorney. Ms. Friedrichs was kind and patient throughout our appointment and a much appreciated source of comfort and knowledge. I left her office with a clear understanding of the separation process and the separation agreement. I also knew the steps I could to take to protect and care for myself, legally and personally, through this difficult process. I recommend Ms. Friedrichs without reservation to anyone going through separation or divorce. Her help was invaluable.
