An absolutely amazing attorney
Mr. Shirkey was assigned to me as a court appointed attorney in the middle of a crazy what seemed to be a losing battle. He came alone and did everything in his power to turn tjings around and has given me all the hope in the world for the outcome I so desperately need. He is always there to listen and makes time for me as well as tells it like it is. He is by far one of the best attorneys I’ve had the privilege to work with and I will be personally hiring him myself the next time I need representation.

Mr. Shirkey did all he possibly could at my trial. In our initial interview, he was honest in his assessment of my case, provided a detailed outline about his process and approach, and bowled me over with his sense of humor. A great combination of human-ness and ability!

My husband and I have been very pleased with the help that Mr. Shirkey has given to our daughter. He has been extremely easy to work with, very responsive to phone calls and emails, and has taken time to explain legal information. My husband is a retired attorney so he and Mr. Shirkey have had 'lawyer' conversations but Mr. Shirkey has always made a point to explain what they were discussing so that I could understand. He was able to support our daughter and get her the best outcome for her case. We feel very fortunate that Mr. Shirkey was assigned to our daughter's case!!!!

Mr. Shirkey is definitely a great lawyer he represented me on a criminal case I got no jail time no active probation he defended my case perfectly I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing a lawyer it won’t be me because I definitely don’t plan on needing a lawyer ever again but if I did it would definitely be Mr. Shirkey

Relatable, caring, prompt responses
mr.shirkey was an awesome attorney. I switched to him from another local attorney who didn't want to give me any advice or options, other than shoehorn me into what he assumed would be my punishment. Hyatt asked me a bunch of questions, i.e. what do I want out of this and what are my concerns, etc...) he was very down to earth, no judgmental like the first lawyer I had. He responded to all of my emails and messages in a prompt manner. He thoroughly explained my options and got me out of a jail sentence...im glad I switched to hyatt. I had never had to use a lawyer before and he made a great impression and I would definitely go back to him if I ever found myself needing this type of legal help .. thank you Mr Shirkey

The Best Lawyer
I want to start off and say look no further Hyatt is the lawyer for your needs. He is direct, realistic and honest about everything up front and that is what you want from all lawyers. He was the best price I could find for my situation and performed well above his price. From having 18 felony charges pending, Hyatt reviewed the information and got it down to 16 dismissed and 2 charges still pending under review which will also be dismissed after a year. So now having all charges going to gone just makes him the beat at what he does. I would recommend him to anyone.

Amazing lawyer
Mr shirkey was attorney for my son. He listened attentively to us. He had great analytical skills and communication skills. He was quick to come up with new plans as the judge, prosecuting attorney process changed. He worked hard at getting the most favorable outcome for my son. He also answered calls when we called him and offered to visit the jail when necessary to prepare a strategic plan for court dates. I would highly recommend Mr. Shirkey.

Beast lawer ever always in your corner
Mr. Shirkey is the best lawer I've ever meet. He always keep in touch with me about my husband's case no matter what time of the day. I could always call and he would awlays willing to answer my question and address any of our concerns. My husband had several cases and even one involving a judge. Shirkey was able to get him out of all the charges. He got even got the one with the judge dismissed. He is a really caring lawer. He's willing to go the extra mile for his clients.

Outstanding
I've got a bit of a record. Nothing monstrous but I've had a couple DUIs and several drug charges over 12 years and I've spent a couple months in the various regional jails. Mr. Shirkey was my court appointed attorney for the worst charges I've ever had against me, in front of the "notorious" (I'm being polite) judge in Floyd - a drug related probation violation on top of a drug related violation probation violation with the possibility of years of jail time. Shirkey achieved the very best possible outcome and I feel like I won the lottery. I have more confidence in him than I do for the attorneys whom I have retained for fees in 2 previous cases, when I was a richer man. I wish I could have the year of dread back while awaiting the hearing, but otherwise I couldn't be happier.

Above and Beyond
I truly wish I could give Hyatt more than 5 stars. He spent ample time with me doing a free consultation. He went over every possible scenario and was rigorously honest about every possible outcome. He thinks outside the box and was very thorough in all of his explanations. The call was dropped twice during our chat due to failing service on my end, but he called me back both times and never lost patience. He was sincere in his words and has a genuine care that feels lost on other lawyers I spoke with. I would highly recommend Hyatt for any legal needs you would have. He’s the real deal! The only reason I am unable to hire him and not make it past the consultation stage is because I did not realize he is a little over 3 hours away. He stated his distance from the start and still spent over an hour with me in the phone! He offered to make the 3 hour drive and said that if anything changes he would still be willing to travel.
