I will start by saying that my driving record is NOT the best by far so when I received a reckless driving ticket in mecklenburg county, I freaked out and feared jail! After doing a little research I learned that its better to hire a lawyer that works in the county that you received the ticket in. Th...at's when I found Joseph E. Taylor. I called him on a Saturday morning and left a message and he called me back a few hours later! I explained to him that I lived in Richmond and he assured me that I would not have to go to court and that he would take care of everything.....for cheap! ( I think I paid him 250 bucks total!) He and his secretary told me everything that I needed to send to them and then they took care of everything without my presence! NOW HERE ARE THE CONS: after that first initial conversation, it was very hard to get back in contact with him. I would call a lot with questions and concerns and would never get a call back until I finally contacted him on his cell. When I finally did, he assured me once again not to worry and that he would take care of everything. He had my charges dropped from a 86/60 to a 69/60!!! Thank you again! If I (God forbid) received another ticket then I would definitely hire him again!

I contacted Mr Taylor to represent in me in a reckless driving ticket on June 12th. He meet with me before trial and explained everything about what to do and say in front of the court. He stood with me at the bench and asked for a dismissal. The state trooper gave her statement after which the judg...e brought down his gavel and dismissed my case. I have to say he was an excellent attorney who I would highly recommend to handle your case

I received a speeding ticket over the summer and received numerous letters in the mail from lawyers asking to be hired in support of my case. When narrowed down i called several to talk to on the phone and Mr Taylor called me back immediately. After deciding to go with Mr Taylor I realized I had a fe...w other questions about supporting documents I had for my case, and a few questions. After several emails with NO responses, voicemails, and phone calls over a two month period it was apparently impossible to reach Mr Taylor. All I ever heard was the same excuse from the receptionist “I will pass your message along and have him call you back.” We’ll my court date comes up now and still no word from Mr Taylor and I come to find out from again his receptionist after calling 5 days after my court date to find out the final judgement that Mr Taylor was running behind that day and they pushed the date out a month. Now another waiting game a month later my date comes up again I need to call Mr Taylor’s office to find out the final verdict and I’m told a letter is being typed up and when Mr Taylor reviews it she will send it out. Two weeks later In the postal mail I get a letter stating I owe a fine to the state of VA but no explanation whether i have points on my license or any other information. I am Extremely dissatisfied with this service and would not recommend Mr Taylor to anyone or trust him in that sense. If you cannot communicate with a lawyer your paying there is something VERY wrong. I’m sure your also thinking why didn’t I ask for my money back to hire someone else? Well I tried that and I was told “Mr Taylor will call you back about a refund” nope never received that call either !!!!

I received a speeding ticket, and apparently in VA the laws are such that it is considered a criminal offense if you are speeding above 80 (79 and below, it's a normal speeding ticket). This can result in a CRIMINAL offense on your record, which has terrible consequences, such as getting a job. VA... is the only state that does such a thing...quite the racket in my opinion. Thank God I found Mr. Taylor. You will be inundated with lots of mail, and they will suggest outlandish fees. Do not stress out. Ignore them all and hire Mr. Taylor. Don't even bother with any of those other people. I have done the legwork for you, and trust me shopping around and speaking to multiple attorneys can. Not only is he priced fairly (I am not rich) but he is far more knowledgeable and professional than his competitors. After all was said and done, he had the charges reduced to a defective equipment charge which is not even a moving violation. I hope to never get a speeding ticket over 80mph again, but if I do, I would not hesitate to hire Mr. Taylor again.
