Godsend

This review is long overdue- Attorney Monte Kuligowski represented me in absentia back in the fall of 2013; it is now 2015, and I, today, feel guilty and disrespectful for not already giving this man a glowing review for his crucial help in my case. For those of you who are in a testy predicament and... are facing a reckless driving charge, please hire this man to represent you in court. As a New Yorker, like all other residents in the Northeastern Seaboard, I never viewed traffic offenses - at least most of them- seriously; however, in the state of Virginia, the law is much more stringent and they will punish you for traffic offenses that are considered relatively minor or trivial in other parts of the nation. To paint a more holistic picture of Mr. Kuligowski, let me explain to you the specifics of my story: After driving for over ten hours all the way from New York, I was pulled over in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge -Tunnel. To my surprise - and dismay - I was charged with reckless driving for doing 84 mph in a 55mph. I was not intentionally driving at that speed; as a local resident understandingly mentioned to me after I angrily explained to him the details of my offense, "when the sun is shining and you're drifting by that beautiful water and stunning scenery, you feel like a million bucks and aren't really paying attention to that speedometer." Indeed, that is what happened to me as I nonchalantly drifted through this mesmerizing bridge. Nevertheless, don't let the magnificence of its structure deceive you; it is merciless speed trap that captures thousands of unsuspecting (and actually reckless) drivers yearly. The cops there won't hesitate to pounce and hand you a speeding ticket if you are above the limit. Prior to this offense, I never committed a single traffic violation - not even a simple parking infraction. Moreover, I was an A+ honor roll student enrolled at a primer university- I was an ordinary citizen with good standing and no prior record. Nevertheless, for a simple, albeit somewhat serious traffic ticket, I was not only being handed a hefty fine, but a summons in court. I would be tried like a criminal, and, if found guilty, I'd be punished with a Class 1 misdemeanor. For the normal law-abiding citizen who has never done anything wrong in their life, that's daunting and worrying. That sort of blemish on your record can have serious consequences. Although its not a felony, that sort of a misdemeanor can function as an ignominious badge of shame that limits future opportunities for enrollment in graduate schools and jobs. Obviously concerned, I did some research and stumbled upon Mr. Kuligowski's name and decided to hire him after much deliberation. Retrospectively, it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Although I was initially found guilty by the judge, who was probably subject to the whims of his daily moods, Mr. Kuligowski put forth an unrelenting and concerted effort to get the decision reversed, which he ultimately accomplished. Mr. Kuligowski embodies everything a true professional should be - someone who is not solely concerned with money, but a devoted individual who puts forth his best effort, genuinely cares for his clientele, and has a firm grasp of justice. He takes pride in his work - that's the type of man or woman you want representing you when the going gets tough in the courtroom. God Bless you Mr. Kuligowski - although a traffic offense is minor in scope, it could've had life-altering ramifications that could have influenced the trajectory of my life in some unfavorable way. This review is not just a genuine thank-you note, but a plea to the unsettled individual who is seeking the services of an attorney to represent them to choose you. Rest assured, if you pick Mr. Kuligowski, you will be in the best hands. There is nobody who has more savvy and potential than Mr. Kuligowski. He is a godsend- undoubtedly the best in the region.

Wreckless Driving in Virginia

I am an out of state resident. I reside in New York, and went to Virginia to road trip with a couple of people. As I was driving down the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, I was pulled over by the officers. I did not realize that I was going fast because I had been driving for a good 8 hour. For someone ...who has a clean record, this was very upsetting and scary. We explained our situation, but the cops insisted on charging me with wreck less driving, on top of that a courts summon. I didn't even know wreck less driving in Virginia is comparable to a DUI in New York. I was out of state, I was not going to go back to Virginia just to appear on court. So then I did hours and hours of research on a lawyer who could represent me on court, and soon I came across Mr. Kuligowski. After all the research and reading upon forums, I decided to contact Mr. Kuligowski. His assistant and him responded back to me in a very swift and helpful manner. I told him my situation - driving 84mph on a 55mph highway. He was more than willing to help represent me and was very cooperative. He answered every questions I had and was very informative. He had helped reduce my charge from wreck less driving to a traffic infraction. I am very pleased with his service. If you ever need a lawyer, YOU MUST contact Mr. Kuligowski!

The Greatest Lawyer in the Area!

I would like to thank the legal defense team at the Monte Kuligowski legal defense office. They Took my case personally and always provided the best legal advice. Above all of that, in the end they got my charges dropped down to the lowest level and it didn't even go on my driving record! I am ver...y thankful that I was led to this great legal team and I recommend them to everyone that has any legal needs!

Lucky Rabbits Foot

I've used Mr. Kuligowski to help me beat a reckless driving (by speed 89/55) charge and I walked out of court with a totally different charge (defective equipment). I'm back six years later for another reckless driving general (improper control/bad brakes) and he was confident the case would be throw...n out or greatly reduced. Sadly he remembered me from the 1st case. We was able to play catch up and I was able to straighten out his slow laptop with a few tips. Mr. Kuligowski has an amazing knack when it comes to getting clients out of a bind. R/ Brian

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
