To give some backstory in case others have encountered a similar situation: I got a speeding ticket in VA (76 in a 55 MPH zone) shortly after switching to a NC license. I paid this ticket without contesting it and then received a letter in the mail months later that my license was being suspended (...a rule in NC for any ticket >15 MPH over the speed limit or in excess of 75 MPH regardless of the scenario, which was completely unbeknownst to me). I then contacted David Long, who had the case reopened, which several other highly rated lawyers in Richmond told me was not possible because too much time had elapsed since I had been pulled over. After taking an online driver education course, he had the ticket completely dismissed.
