Professional dependable lawyer
I hired David Long to represent me in traffic court. I found his name online and filled out information for some free advice. He responded within a day and called me. Waste of Money
I paid 1,000 for Mr. Long's help regarding a reckless driving ticket. I still got points on my driving record, my license suspended, a hefty fine, and even had to sit in a cell for four hours. He threatened me with ten days of jail time. It was a speeding ticket on a highway. No one was injured. I...
I'm sorry that you believe you did not get your moneys worth from my representation. I understand your frustration that the judge decided to hold you in the back for four hours. Every judge has a cut off point where they start giving jail time on high speed cases. Most judges give jail time when the speed reaches 100 mph, and for some judges the limit is 95 or even 90 mph. Fortunately no-one was injured in your case, but these judges see many high speed cases which result in injury and even death, so they view driving at very high speeds as reckless and dangerous behavior. However, even in very high speed cases, we can mitigate the amount of jail time through driving school, community service hours, a clean driving record, and other evidence that we provide to the court at sentencing. I'm sorry that in this case we were not able to achieve a satisfactory result. Lastly, I apologize that I came across as threatening. I presume that your speed was such that either I thought that the general district court judge may give you ten days, or that an appeal of the general district courts decision could result in a ten day sentence in the circuit court. Either way, my intent was to provide information, not to threaten. I'm sorry that I caused you and your family to worry. Please contact my office if you would like to discuss this case further, or how I could have served you better. Sincerely, David Long
