Rachelle Simone Young

I did not hear from my lawyer, Rachelle Young, for months, despite my repeated attempts to contact her via email, text, and phone calls. The last time I spoke to Ms. Young was during a phone call when she told me she needed 45 more minutes to review my documents before submission. She had already mis...sed the original deadline for submission by several weeks and needed to request an extension. After that phone call, I never heard from Rachelle Young again. Because Ms. Young disappeared after missing critical deadlines, I was issued a notice to compel with possible sanctions. I had to come up with tens of thousands of dollars for a new lawyer because she didn’t return any unearned funds or money she billed for work that was not delivered. I am not the first client she has screwed over. She has a negotiated discipline on file with the DC Bar Association for similar behavior with three other clients. If you don’t want to be added to the list of people she has screwed over, find another lawyer.

My lawyer failed me on multiple deadlines. Documents were typically sent to me LATE in the evening for review while I was traveling or during work related assignments. Come to find out my appeal had multiple typos in it, which I asked to be corrected and weren't. During the case a CD was not recei...ved by the judge which was reviewed and received poorly upon arguments on my behalf. This attorney did not state when she left the firm and the state of how my case was left. Unfortunately, I had asked for a new attorney from 2010-2014 and the firm never offered me another attorney. Certain things had to be cleared up with the firm in regards to billing of certain things during depositions. One such typo and lack of assurance in the delivery of the case recently resulted in the reason for why it was lost. The attorney didn't ensure the Commission received the report.
