Do not hire Mr Banks

You can be a good Christian but awful at your job. He completely gave us terrible advise and was awful in court, awful is being nice. He mumbled the Judge had to tell him to speak up. He called my daughter by the wrong name, he had no clue what he was doing, the other attny chewed him up and spit h...im out. Afterwards he said that went well and I had to remind him we lost. We had to hire another attny to try to undo what he did. Again you can be a good Christian but terrible at your job. I regret the day we hired him.

beware of this attorney - do your research first

Chester Banks will only help you if you are a close friend. He did not handle my criminal case at all and I received 8 months in jail for a petty offense. When I tried to call him, he would never return my calls from the jail. He did not want to consult with me about my case until the day of my heari...ng. He kept the door open while folks listened to our quick talk. Any positive reviews shown here are probably false reviews, left by friends and family. He also cheats on his taxes. He is not a good man.

Compassion and Excellence

I was assigned to Mr. Banks through the assistance program for those who couldn't afford legal counsel. I was a very troubled young man at the time. Not only did he follow through with his promises. He had the professionalism to look me in the eye and tell me about myself. He made me realize that my ...problems extended beyond my legal troubles. And his attention to detail changed the course of my proceedings. I'm now clean and sober and I was afforded the opportunity by his hard work.

Unprofessional

PLEASE READ! Do not under any circumstance go to see Mr. Banks. I was given a referral through my employee benefit program for Mr. Banks and his services. He cancelled on me the day of the appointment. I rescheduled, then had me on hold for my rescheduled appointment for 10-20 minutes before I cal...led it quits. Both days, my wife and I moved things around to accommodate his schedule. Him and his staff are completely unprofessional. Not a care in the world with no sense of service. I am submitting a complaint through my employee assistance program and wish everything but to have another client be treated with such disregard.

Impromptu Superstar

I showed up at Banks and Associates planning to represent myself for an emergency child custody hearing...in 22 hours! I've been burned pretty badly by the last attorneys I hired, so I had actually gone on a free referral to get as much legal advice as I could to do so. After 45 minutes of consulting... with Mr. Banks, I realized that my case wasn't quite as cut and dry as I thought. I felt comfortable enough after our conversation that I decided to hire him, even though he expressed - at the front end - that he didn't think we wouldn't walk out of court with a verdict in our favor, since my child's opinion would be given strong consideration by the court due to age...but he took my case anyway. He went through all the information I provided (much of which he couldn't use...and he told me so), sorted through what was relevant, saw through the BS, and presented my case before the judge as if he had been on it since before my child was potty trained, even with all my last minute "oh, by the way's." He's an honest, up front attorney who will give it to you straight and, if your opinions differ, he will fight for the result YOU want and, at least in my case, win! There aren't words to express my gratitude for the excellent job Mr. Banks did. I hold no reservations in saying that the time I'll be able to spend with my child before the age of majority is all thanks to him proving to the judge that there was no legal basis for the emergency motion.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education

  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
