Shirley Chim

It has been 4 years fighting for the custody of my children and the child support that I am due.  It has been a long slog and it seems at times no one seemed to be interested or cared about my situation. Everytime I hoped my ex would stop, he would come back to court with something new. I count mys...elf fortunate to have had Shirley by my side throughout this process .   She has been steadfast in her unwavering belief in me.  Her professionalism, competence, and forward and out of the box thinking helped me obtain my goal of raising my kids. In times when I needed advice, a sounding board, an honest opinion or legal strategy, she would be there to provide it. But the one thing I am most grateful for Shirley is her humanism, her humanity.  These legal battles were severely depressing and I always felt like I had a family member Shirley fighting along side me, for me.  I know that she looks after my needs and my family’s best interests based on the things that she brings up in court, ideas of how I can handle my ex, and the language she inserts in legal documents.

I was really struggling to find someone that would hear my case and give me and honest evaluation on my particular problem and Shirley was strategic ally forthright, with me and and allowed me to look at the circumstances from a 360 perspective and what would be the best move possible given everythi...ng at stake and she was black and white, didn’t mix words and let me know realistically what I was facing. I sincerely appreciate the perspective of not wasting my time with all the what “ifs “simply from her wisdom. She’s sharp, knowledgeable , congenial and certainly a professional I trust. I nicked named her “Shirley to the rescue” because she rescued me and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Shirley Chim is amazing! She helped me with my divorce and a lengthy alimony situation. She has aided me in legal matters for almost 5 years. I hired Shirley for my custody case. It was a very high conflict case with a difficult opposing party. We tried to negotiate multiple times and to come to an agreement to avoid court. Shirley was always willing to do things the way I wanted to, but also provided advice and direction based on her know...ledge of how the courts work and on her knowledge of my case specifics. She was very honest and never sugar coated anything but was realistic based on the facts that we had. She prepared me so well both mentally and in the trial prep. We ended up in court and she was wonderful during the trial, asking all of the right questions. Things change and come up instantly while in trial and she was so quick to pick up on my notes, and to include new things in her questions and closing argument. She was always very down to earth with me and understanding, which is so important in a case and in a time like this. This was a very difficult time in my life, and Shirley has really been wonderful, both in winning my case and in the direction she gave me. I really can't thank her enough.
