One of the Best

I had 6 Felony charges from a false accusation that was one of those "How do you disprove a negative" kind of case. I was recommended to Peter Greenspun from another attorney to provide a sanity check to my then defense preparations. After talking with him I made the choice to change lawyers and reta...in his firm as it was clear from the conversation that his goal from the start was to do everything he could to never let my case go to trial if possible. Juries are both good and bad - once you get in front of one, it may not matter how good your defense is, you could still be found guilty for any number of factors outside of your control. Peter Greenspun and his team of professionals organized every bit of information available about my case - from witness testimony, medical records, to discovery provided by the authorities - they fully documented my history and background. I had to do a lot of "homework" to help make sure he had as much information as he needed to understand and be ready for anything that came at him from the prosecution. To his credit (and yours if you retain him) he has an excellent reputation with the Courts, being well known for his depth of knowledge of the Law, and his professionalism. He lives by the mantra of preparing for the worst, but planning for the best outcome - not just hoping for it. In the end, my case was dismissed with prejudice at trial, in no small part because of his excellent knowledge of, and how to use every aspect of the Law to his client's advantage. I would highly recommend Peter Greenspun to anyone looking for one of the best criminal defense attorneys in Northern Virginia - because he is.

An Extremely Satisfied Client

Based on my personal experience, I can say without a doubt, Peter Greenspun is the best and most effective criminal defense attorney anybody could ever want or ask for! (I can honestly say this is the real life attorney “Perry Mason” would hire if he ever needed one.) Add to this a support staff o...f attorneys, assistants and office staff I experienced that are as professional and resourceful as Peter is…a big reason this law firm was so successful in defending me against three serious felonies I was charged with in 2014. And each of these three felonies carried the threat of serious, long lasting and devastating consequences. I can truthfully say all of this without hesitation or reservation after both Peter and his supporting attorney, Misha Lopez, defended me in 2015 during a difficult 3 ½ day jury trial where I was found “not guilty” of all three felony counts.… a result I don’t believe any other attorney could have accomplished! Thank heavens, I found Peter wasn’t the type of lawyer to throw me under the bus for a quick plea agreement and a quick buck like so many others. He turned out to be my fulfillment of the ideal defense attorney; one who invested lots of careful, detailed legwork and preparation to represent me shrewdly and aggressively, fought for my innocence with all of his ability and experience, which I found to be unparalleled, and his determination left no stone unturned to successfully defend me. I remember when I first met Peter, I asked why I should hire him instead of any other lawyer, and he said to me I would find hiring him to be the best money I ever spent…and he was absolutely right! I can only express from the bottom of my heart the sincerest appreciation possible to Peter and his legal team for their outstanding legal representation!

Former Client

My life changed forever on a January day in 2010 when I was falsely accused by one of my elementary school students of serious misconduct. There were two stunning criminal charges made against me, both felonies, that could have resulted in me being imprisoned for as long as 40 years. During the ear...ly phases of this process I used two different lawyers, but they could not stop the legal juggernaut of the school district for which I worked, the local police department and a child protective services office. Two separate lie detector tests administered by FBI-trained specialists early in the legal process showed I was speaking truthfully but they were summarily dismissed by the prosecutor. Then, at the lowest moment of my ordeal and perhaps of my life, my mom suggested that I talk with Peter Greenspun about representing me. Peter is well known in legal circles in Northern Virginia; he has a reputation for taking on the toughest cases with the most severe of penalties for defendants if he is not successful. I met with Peter and talked about my situation and he agreed to represent me in my case. As it turns out, this was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Peter is a no-nonsense attorney who demonstrates relentless energy and determination when representing his clients. He heads an office with very experienced and capable associates and paralegals. Peter exudes calm confidence and certainty and he has a great wealth of legal experience and extensive contacts throughout the criminal justice system in Virginia. About five months after I was accused of the inappropriate contact with one of my students, a three-day criminal trial was held in the Circuit Court. Peter expertly cross-examined witnesses for the prosecution and orchestrated a very convincing strategy with numerous defense witnesses that resulted in two unanimous not guilty findings by a jury. Such was the effectiveness of Peter’s efforts that the jury’s deliberations lasted less than 40 minutes before they acquitted me of both of the very serious charges against me. Peter Greenspun is “the real deal” when it comes to proactive, aggressive criminal defense. I would recommend him and his firm to anyone in need of a stout defense and I make this recommendation of Peter without any reservations.

A Unaltrustitic Person who Appears Initially Sincere

I hired Peter to represent me in a false allegation. During our initial meeting he stressed that I needed a lawyer yesterday; trusting him and believing his philosophy written on his page about wanting to be there for people in their darkest hour, I retained him the next day. He said he would immedia...tely contact the necessary people. Come to find out that contact was not even attempted until two weeks later. So for all that time I sat and wondered what was the outcome. A month later the issue resolved on its own and peter was the go between myself and the other party to inform me that it was cleared. Peter just left a voice mail on my cell and an email leeting me know it was resolved. Yet there were housekeeping issues that needed to be addressed by him immediately. Instead he takes a long weekend without making arrangements for someone else to help while he was gone. So i was placed in a situation to take care of the issues myself. I recognize everyone needs time off but he was remiss in not making follow up arrangements while he was gone. After he got back we had a followup conversation on what we agreed to do as the next step; he failed to deliver. I wasnt informed on why he wasn't able to accomplish it. Then a few weeks passed and I hadn't received a trust account statement so I inquired about one. Then I got an email with a refund receipt for the reminder in the account that was not used, with no attempt to tell the status of where he was on closing out the housekeeping issues. After receiving the receipt, I sent him a lengthy email about the experience asking the status of where he was on the housekeeping issues with no response from him. Peter has.not made any attempt to respond to my email.. To me that speaks volumes on his perspective on how he commited to represent clients. Initially, he appears personable, sincere, and committed to convince someone to become a client; and then when the contract is signed he evolves into someone opposite to what he initially presented himself. In my case he did not practice what he preached. He was not whole heartedly helping me in my darkest hour. I believel he was expecting this situation to become extensive and therefore, lucrative. When it hadn't become extensive, he didn't want to be involve with the housekeeping issues of the situation.
