It had been seven years since the divorce when I turned to Jason to handle my request to modify/ terminate spousal support. I could not be happier with my divorce! I'm sure that's not something many people say. However, Jason and his associate Steven Goldman really listened to my needs and priorities. My only priority was protecting my children. In that vein, I was want to drag my (volatile, difficult) ex to court. A...lthough I felt we could "win" in court, "winning" was never the point. The point was providing a loving, stable home for my children and a drawn-out court case was not going to benefit them. That said, did I mention that my ex is "difficult"? Hiring Jason, a well known litigator, to settle my case would ensure I was prepared go to court if needed. We tried exchanging documents, but were met with slow responses and backtracking on the other side. Eventually, we filed. Mediation had been mentioned, but I was concerned that a mediator would just be looking at "middle ground" and not what's best for the children. In addition, I had tried mediation through a counselor before I hired Jason and it went nowhere. They worked late into the evening to make sure we did not walk away without a signed settlement and during that LONG day, neither of them multi-tasked or worked on any other case.
