Gary Bernstein is an outstanding lawyer! He fought for me when I was wrongly accused and saved me from a calamity of injustice. I was unexpectedly arrested at my home on charges I knew nothing about for an incident in which I was not involved. Suddenly, I found myself in need of a criminal defens...e lawyer. I emailed Mr. Bernstein on the recommendation of a friend of a friend. Within minutes of receiving my email, he called me. When I spoke with him, he simultaneously made me aware of the serious nature of my situation and put me at ease with his unique blend of humor, legal knowledge, and direct actions. There was a chance I would not have to go to court; I was cautiously hopeful, but skeptical, of this seemingly amazing turn of events. Mr. Bernstein also shocked me with an amazing gift; he took my case pro bono. He seemed as offended with the injustice of it as my closest friends, and he used his own time and resources freely to help me. This was an amazing gift, not only because of the financial relief, but also because it broke the pressure of the situation’s unfairness. It was an incredible act that I think reflects Mr. Bernstein’s respect for the legal process, his passion for justice, and his compassion. A few weeks later, I got an unexpected text from Mr. Bernstein that the charges were being dropped. Mr. Bernstein told me to keep my eyes out for a letter from the court. I prayed and hoped, but to my chagrin, remained skeptical. It seemed too good to be true. But today, sure enough, I hold in my hands the papers from the court reading “dismissed.” Mr. Bernstein did it! The charges are dropped; a huge weight has lifted from my chest, and I can finally breath again. This insane situation is on the way to being resolved because of the diligent and generous work of Mr. Bernstein! Gary Bernstein was everything I could hope for in a lawyer. He immediately began working on my case with a clear plan of action. He acted with integrity, doing exactly what he said he would do. He treated me with empathy, patience, and respect in each of our interactions. And he demonstrated superior legal skill and professional expertise by getting the State’s Attorney to dismiss the case without going to court. Gary Bernstein is the ideal lawyer!
