Steve is FED UP with insurance companies that treat injured people like DIRT and act as if the injured person is the one who did something wrong. He has HAD IT with worker's compensation insurers who routinely deceive workers about their legal rights and who COULDN'T CARE LESS about the worker and his or her family.
He is OUTRAGED that doctors who MAIM, PARALYZE AND KILL innocent patients by committing medical mistakes, continue to practice without even a slap on the wrist and then expect the victim to accept PEANUTS as compensation for the doctor's NEGLIGENCE.
Steve became so FED UP that in 1996 he changed his practice to focus ENTIRELY ON INJURY CASES. Since 1996, Steve has been representing injured people and FIGHTING INSURANCE COMPANIES.
Steve's been a fighter his entire life. A high school wrestler who developed back problems, Steve took up boxing. His boxing career included winning the 1979 Central Pennsylvania Novice Golden Gloves and the 1980 South Atlantic AAU bantamweight title.
Before Steve was admitted to law school, he went to work as an organizer and business agent for the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union, Local #7. Before long he developed a reputation as trustworthy, reliable and above all, a fighter. "He called one time after he had been carried out of the race track by eight security guards. Steve didn't back down from anyone," said Paul Richards, former Executive Secretary-Treasurer of Local 7. While with Local 7, Steve organized the vendors and concession workers at Camden Yards and housekeepers at Towson University.
Steve graduated from the University of Baltimore Law School in 1988. He has represented thousands of injured people ever since. He is married with three children. He loves the Orioles, Ravens, Wizards, Capitals and all University of Maryland sports teams. He despises the Yankees, Steelers and Duke University. He will, however, represent Yankee, Steeler and Duke fans.
