Lauren Emily Kollecas

Ms. Kollecas helped me out of a deep hole that I was in. She worked through some of the toughest State Attorneys & Judges, and still managed to get me ZERO points with Probation Upon Judgment on my speeding citation (alleged triple digit speeds) Ms. Kollecas was assigned to my appeal for my first... court's ruling. She stayed with me the whole time while we sorted everything out. She spent her time helping me weigh my options and also prepare our case for worst case scenario (trial). In the end she was able to make a deal with the State's Attorney from 5 points to 2 points with a pled down speed from triple digits to 84mph. She then was able to convince the judge to grant me Probation Upon Judgment (zero points) with $150 fee. Great Defense Attorney, great person. Please do yourself a favor and do everything she asks you in a timely manner, it will only benefit you more.

This office did the bare minimum and sometimes even failed to do that much so I constantly had to pick up their slack. In fact, throughout my divorce case, Ms. Kollecas apologized multiple times for the Azari team dropping the ball. From failure to have papers served in a timely fashion, to filing do...cuments improperly with the court, sending an unprepared novice attorney to represent me at a scheduled court appearance, sending me another client’s divorce documents, and repeated mistakes with my name in legal documentation—Azari Law’s sloppiness and mismanagement of my case has been a great inconvenience and an anxiety-inducing experience during what was already a traumatic time. Overall, Azari Law failed to attentively monitor and take necessary action as my case progressed. I had to invest a significant amount of time, resources, and research to ensure my case moved along and that each step was handled effectively. Recently (more than a year after my case closed and the final bill was settled), they sent me a bill for filing fees that dated back to TWO YEARS ago with Ms. Kollecas’ note: “My apologies for the late bill, our office had omitted the out of pocket filing fees.” When I inquired further, Mr. Azari responded, stating “for some reason it was not billed to you.” I expressed my concerns and requested that they resolve the fees internally since the very late bill was due to their own office’s billing oversight (on top of all their other errors I’d had to deal with), but they never responded.

Lauren Kollecas has brought much needed peace to my life. She recently concluded (I would definitely say in my favor) a very stressful divorce and custody case. When I hired Lauren, I hadn't seen my daughter, who was 10 months old at the time, in 4 months. Her mom, bitter about our separation, m...oved out of our home, took our daughter our of childcare and placed her in a new one. Despite knowing that I was a loving and devoted father, my ex-wife decided to fight for full custody of our daughter. At the trial, Lauren showed an impeccable knowledge of the law, confident court presence, and amazing skill as a trial lawyer. She completely outclassed my wife's attorney which led to me receiving joint custody. My ex-wife also wanted half the value of my home despite the fact that she lived there only 4 years of the 20 years that I owned it and never contributed anything to the maintenance and upkeep of the property. Instead of going to trial and having to face Lauren again, my wife and her attorney decided it was in their best interest to settle before the hearing. They received much less than what they initially wanted. I can't say enough about Lauren Kollecas. Her skill, compassion, and knowledge of law makes her one of the best lawyers in the area. I will recommend her to any family member or friend that are faced with any situation that requires an attorney.

Kollecas carefully listened, objected to misleading statements in an effective manner, and fully exposed the lies of my accuser during cross-examination. My accuser bitterly sulked when her first action was rebuked by the judge in the form of a dismissal at the preliminary hearing.
