Alexander "Jiayu" Zhong, Esq. (钟家钰律师) is the founder of Alexander Zhong Law Firm, LLC, and an attorney licensed to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia. He primarily focuses on automobile accident claims, personal injury litigation, and insurance claims, while also handling criminal defense matters. In addition, he helps Chinese-speaking clients connect with leading attorneys across the United States. Two of the largest personal injury claims he has worked on resulted in recoveries of $1.6 million and $1.3 million, respectively.
A member of Tsinghua University's Class of 1994, Mr. Zhong holds three master's degrees and a Juris Doctor (J.D.). He earned his J.D. from the University of Arizona's James E. Rogers College of Law in 2021 as a full-scholarship recipient and TechLaw Fellow, completing the program in seven semesters. His extensive academic background also includes a B.S. from Tsinghua University (1998), an M.S. in Genetics from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2001), an M.S. in Molecular Biology from Albert Einstein College of Medicine (2005), and an M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Connecticut (2009).
Before founding his own law firm, Mr. Zhong received law clerk training at two leading Maryland law firms and subsequently practiced as an associate attorney, bringing more than 200 clients into his former firms' caseloads. His five years of experience as an actuarial analyst at GEICO provided him with extensive knowledge of automobile insurance and risk assessment. He also holds licenses in life insurance, health insurance, title insurance, and public adjusting.
Alexander Zhong Law Firm's professional team collectively holds attorney licenses in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, California, Washington State, Arizona, and China, along with Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials and four categories of insurance-related licenses. This combination of legal, financial, and insurance expertise enables the firm to assist clients with complex claims and coordinate representation across multiple jurisdictions.
Mr. Zhong is also the author of Risk Management for Driving in the USA (《美国行车宝典》), published in 2012. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for 2026 and 2027 and has received numerous five-star reviews from satisfied clients.
Outside his legal practice, Mr. Zhong enjoys pursuing intellectually stimulating and meaningful activities.
