I hired Mr. Donny Knepper to represent me in a very serious DUI case. This was my first time being in legal trouble of any kind, so I didn’t know much about the process. After my arrest, I received dozens of offers to be represented by various lawyers in and around Montgomery County, Maryland. ... I contacted and consulted with many, but I knew from the first conversation that Mr. Knepper was the attorney for my case. He was kind and reassuring from the very first conversation we had on the phone, which he answered himself after normal business hours. He offered a very prompt, thorough initial consultation. After learning the complicated nature of the case, he offered me a very fair flat fee with a structured payment schedule. As a father of four, this was a godsend. Before my initial consultation ended, he had zeroed in on a solid, multi-pronged defense strategy. This gave me great peace of mind as I went on about my busy life until my court date. On the day I appeared in court, Mr. Knepper arrived and spoke with the district attorney who offered a deal that was not satisfactory. He laid out my options in plain terms, and advised me that we should take the case to trial, because he had a well-researched, viable argument. He had done his due diligence and had various legal cases to cite in front of the judge. Although I was very scared and nervous, his composed demeanor and confidence in his position reassured me. I took his advice and we went to trial. He defended me like a lion during the trial. All of the police involved in my arrest were there to testify against me. He aggressively objected to any unfair testimony and shut down much of the district attorneys arguments. He stuck to his initial position, the one he zeroed in on back at our first consultation. He got the officer who first encountered me to admit he made a mistake and set them on their heels from that point forward. Almost none of the evidence against me after that really had much bearing. In the closing arguments he made a motion to have the charges dropped, and the judge agreed with him. I was acquitted of all seven serious criminal charges, as well as one civil charge. Their entire case was complete gone. This man saved my life, my marriage, and my career. The outcome he achieved has saved me years of legal and financial woe. I would tell anyone looking for competent legal representation to go with Mr. Donald Knepper.
