Got the job done.

I hired Mr. Cohen to get the job done and he did just that. The only downfall was the time it took to complete my divorce. To no faults of Scott of course. The courts are so backed up it took a while. The positive part was being able to contact Scott and he almost was always available to speak with... me. He kept me in the loop with everything that was going on in my case and that was one of the most important things to me. I do recommend Scott if communication is a big deal because he does make it a point to stay in contact and include his client.

Bad Lawyer

I went to this attorny for a free consultation, he said he would handle my divorce fot $1750.00 total, he had to draw up papers and so on, i told him I filed papers in 1997, he said he did'nt know if they were good, I called family court and they said they were good, I went to city hall and picked t...hem up, they said I just had to continue from were i left off, i told Mr. Cohen that $1750.00 was to much, he lowered fee to $750.00, but i had to pay in full, I payed annd sent papers, I told him I just wanted my house, he no problem, called him all summer he never had my file, never called back, he finally called me in September and said I had to pay more money if I wanted the house, all along he said my divorce was not going to be a problem, I always told him from the beginning i wanted the house, i have witnesses

Unfortunately sometimes there are misunderstandings between lawyer and client when everything is not put down in writing, or the client is less than straightforward and does not provide all the information the lawyer needs to properly provide advice and counsel. That is why I ALWAYS have a written fee agreement signed by the client, and they are provided a copy so that there is no confusion about the scope of the representation. If a client decides on their own, after work has begun, that the agreed fee is "too much", and they get angry and take to social media to vent that anger, it says more about the client than the quality of the representation.
