Mr. Getson joined Wapner Newman, P.C. as an Associate in April 2004 and has always focused his practice in plaintiffs’ Civil Trial Litigation. Since 2003, Mr. Getson has successfully represented injured victims in a variety of accidents, including automobile crashes, transportation and trucking crashes, dog attacks, product malfunctions, slips/trips and falls, medical malpractice, professional malpractice, elevator accidents, negligent security and dram shop claims, construction site accidents, nursing home abuse and neglect, construction site accidents, and other personal injury matters. In January 2014, Mr. Getson became a Partner at Wapner Newman.
Mr. Getson is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania (2003) and New Jersey (2003), as well as before the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (2004) and the District of New Jersey (2004.)
Mr. Getson is recognized by Martindale-Hubbell as being rated “AV Preeminent”, Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating, for his ethical standards and legal ability. The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review analysis is based upon peer reviews from attorneys and the Judiciary. In 2020 and 2021, Mr. Getson was honored as a Pennsylvania “Super Lawyer” by Thompson Legal. Attorneys who qualify for this designation have earned excellent peer recognition and demonstrated a high-degree of professional achievement in the practice of Pennsylvania law. For seven consecutive years prior to being named a “Super Lawyer” Mr. Getson was honored as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer “Rising Star.” A Pennsylvania Super Lawyer “Rising Star” is a designation used by Thompson Legal for attorneys 40 years old and younger. Since 2012, each year Mr. Getson has been recognized by The National Trial Lawyers Association as being one of the “The National Trial Lawyers Association: Top 100.” This recognition is extended solely to the select few of the most qualified attorneys from each state who demonstrate superior qualifications of leadership, reputation, influence, stature and public profile.
In addition to advocating for his clients at Wapner Newman, Mr. Getson is a certified Arbitrator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and can be found lecturing on his areas of expertise at Continuing Legal Education Seminars.
Mr. Getson is a proud member of the American Association for Justice (formerly ATLA, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America), Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, New Jersey Association for Justice and Pennsylvania Association for Justice. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Philadelphia (PA) and Burlington County (NJ) Bar Associations.
Prior to Wapner Newman, Mr. Getson earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh and was named to the National Deans List of America in 2000. In 2002, Mr. Getson studied International Law at Australia's prestigious University of Technology Sydney Law School. He received his Juris Doctor from Widener School of Law in 2003, where he was a graduate of the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program.
When not involved in the practice of law, Mr. Getson is focused on his other passion in life, his family.
