NOT WHAT I EXPECTED FOR A FAMILY LAWYER

Was referred to Mr Rocco through friends who had used him. They said he was expensive and would bill but was OK. I found many issues with billing, professionalism and his general demeanor. Was often very arrogant in presentation and condescending to others involved. I just wanted a peaceful resolutio...n as did my spouse. Thought it would be basic, but this attorney kept trying to make it into a war. Not needed or wanted, yet was highly billed. Just was not a great experience. Had another lawyer pick up the pieces.

Uncommunicative, Tardy, and Rude

I hired Mr Rocco to work on my complex divorce. He rarely returned phone calls, often cancelled scheduled meetings, failed to communicate filings or court decisions, and was often rude. He seems to have a much larger caseload than he can manage. My experience was nothing short of awful.

Excellent Litigator

Jim is my attorney in an extremely messy and complex divorce. He was extremely successful in representing me during the custody phase. He defended me against contempt for protecting my children and won. We had one of the toughest judges you could get and he was again successful and we won. Not only d...id he ensure that my children remained safe in my care in Philadelphia, but he also went above and beyond to develop a connection with my children and made sure they felt safe and protected. We are still fighting our way through the rest of this complex divorce but I am extremely confident in his knowledge and abilities thus far in every appearance he’s made on my behalf, and I am very happy with the decisions he’s won in my favor. I’d also like to note that his legal assistant Ashley is amazing. She is very responsive, always warm and friendly, and will do whatever she can to help as quickly as she can. I highly recommend Jim Rocco and am very grateful to both he and Ashley for all they have done for me and my children.

Pompous, Arrogant Attorney

Jim Rocco on the surface would appear to be a smooth attorney who can get the job done. I had enough of his antics after 1 week and switched to a reputable attorney. Not only did Mr. Rocco slander numerous other attorney's, some of who I actually met with, but he thinks he's the best attorney in Ph...iladelphia. I hired Mr. Rocco to do my divorce and during our consultation Mr. Rocco said no problem, he had it in the bag and he will get me everything I wanted. I know not to believe everything I hear but Mr. Rocco at first appears to be a real nice guy. That's simply not true. Maybe he was trying to show off because I'm a female. He's facade faded in that 1 week and I saw his true colors when after he spoke to opposing counsel he called me and said I would have to give him another $10,000 on top of the $10,000 retainer I just have him 6 days prior. He assured me that the $10,000 would last at least two months. Just lie after lie. What I found to be most alarming was how Mr. Rocco prided himself on knowing everyone and he could move mountains (his words not mine). Upon his request for another $10,000 my radar went up and red flags were raised, I requested my retainer back as he literally did no work other than one call and one email to opposing counsel then found a new attorney. I'm still waiting for Mr. Rocco to send me my retainer as its been awhile now and he continues coming up with excuses as to why he has not sent it yet. PLEASE do your homework before giving an attorney a retainer fee, most are good, but then there are unethical attorney's such as Mr. Rocco.

Just a basic attorney with some misleading skills

Looking back 2 years now, this lawyer was not what he represents. My case was complicated and he represented that he knew all these other lawyers and judges, but he was very ill prepared and my case went south. I let it go, till I hired a more seasoned lawyer who told me my case was done poorly by th...is attorney. i paid another moderate sum of money to fix the custody and financial issues that he totally missed. His arrogance and being off in trial cost me time and money. Not recommended now that I look back
