He is a True Help in Times of Need

Our chance of staying in our house seems fading as days goes by, we went through modification once and has to have one the second time, we went to counselor to counselors but all of them says, there's no chance for us, their best advised was to file bankruptcy. The last counselor handed us a list ...of lawyers that my wife started to call and the only office that answer was Scott by himself, immediately my wife felt a good impression of Scott professionalism. We came to his office, as was advised earlier by counselors we did previously seen was to file bankruptcy, but when we met him we did express our desire if we could had a 2nd loan modification, and to our surprise, he said "I can't promise you anything but Yes we can do that and if it won't work then we could do bankruptcy" that tells us that his knowledge is enormous. We did proceed with the modification and along the process he guided us, call us in his office if need be, he is on top of our case, after few months, we received a letter from the servicer of our loan telling us that "we were dis-approved in our loan modification". After few days Scott called us to appear in his office, our minds tells us that, this is it he gonna tell us the bad news, honestly we don't know what happen or what he did, when he sees us in his office , he has this big bright smile, pulled up a bunch of documents from his cabinet and with that bright big smile lean forward on us and said" Congratulations your loan modification for the 2nd time got approved". My wife almost jumped with much happiness, we so relieved and very grateful and thankful of him. I will not blink and never hesitate to recommend him, he's a true help in time of need, "Scott is the Man"

My review

My review after using this lawyer is: he got the job done but along the way his etiquette severely lacked. My first impression of him was high, however, after subsequent meetings and attempted contacts to him, my impression quickly faded. It was almost as if after securing him as my lawyer, all of hi...s courtesies went out of the window. The few times I stopped by the office, he didn't even bother to close the door when discussing my personal affairs, even more so if one of his co-workers interrupted us. If I emailed him a question, his email response back was not even in professional tact and was very lazy, such as using lower case letters at the beginning of each sentence etc. When he addressed my personal debts, there was a certain arrogance in his tone when discussing specific companies I owed money to.

Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
