Awesome!

Having been cited for a DUI (my only) was a frightening experience to say the least. I heard about attorney Breit through recommendations from friends. Within the first few minutes of my first telephone conversation with attorney Breit, he calmly eased my panic, assured me that everything would be ok...ay, and proceeded to advise me of my options. From that conversation on, through every step of the process, attorney Breit was by my side, and handled my case with compassion, professionalism and ease, to the most positive outcome I could have expected. Hopefully I won't have the need, but without second thought, I would surely hire attorney Breit again, and I would most certainly recommend others to do the same.

Professional and Honest Legal Advice

Steven provided legal advise regarding my wife's brother criminal case. He was very informative and responsive to our inquiries about legal options. His professionalism and honest legal advice was invaluable for us to confirm and make the correct decision about our legal issue.

We didn't know our rights

In dealing with an issue with our (minor) daugter, I was confused about what our rights were since the police officer involved kept changing what the outcome would be with each discussion. In explaining the situation to Atty. Breit he offered his legal advice on what options/route to take regarding h...er case. I am so happy that we spoke to him. We went before the judge, and offered the suggestions given by Atty. Breit and the outcome was so much better than what we were dealing with initially. The legal system is a confusing one for people that don't deal with it on a regular basis. Atty. Breit explained our rights, and our options clearly. I cannot reccommend him highly enough.

DO NOT WASTE your money on his service.

DO NOT hire him. He WON'T work for YOU; he defended the TROOPER to me after getting much less than what I asked him for. There were many signs that he could not bring what I wanted. I'm a person with just one citation in my whole life, and the ticket I was fighting for with him was the FIRST ticket... I've ever received. Despite my "CLEAN" record, which he himself also said was unremarkable, he wasn't able to bring what I requested. I just saw a few reviews with one star that says he isn't responsive, which is true. When I signed up for his service, he said he would give me a call to explain the procedure once the court date was assigned. NEVER HAPPENED. He merely sent me a written notice via mail (and email), and that was it. I had to give him a call myself to confirm the details. Why on earth am I doing his job on his behalf? Since I only got to his voicemail, I asked for a call back. He left me a very defensive, short message that I needed to come to the court for the trial; otherwise, the trial would be dismissed. He was also defensive the whole time during the call when I was finally connected. I was asking professional questions, and he was hired and paid to answer those questions. What's wrong with him being so defensive? He didn't even give me a call to explain the procedure unlike promised. Maybe he should do his job first before thinking I was "disrespecting" him, which he said? Respect is earned when you do your job well, not granted for free. I don't understand why he became so competitive over the phone when his job was to provide legal "ASSISTANCE" and when I asked for EXACTLY THAT. I DON'T CARE about your EGO for god's sake, and it is NOT MY JOB to serve your EGO, Steven. Just do your job as paid and promised! Also, when I met him at the court for the first time (and also when he was trying to get me to use his service a couple of months ago), he bluffed as if my case were an easy one for him and as if the trooper who gave me the citation were someone who he could easily coax. However, he was avoiding my eyes the whole time when we talked about my case at the court, which indicated his lack of confidence. I felt as if I were cheerleading for the losing team already. When I asked him whether I needed to stand next to him while he talked to the trooper before the trial, he said "no, you should just behave." Who says that to a client? I paid good money to get his service AS A CLIENT, not as his daughter or a niece? I don't understand why he can't act and talk more professionally. I'm not your friend; I'm your CLIENT, Steven. Eventually, he could only get my five points reduced to two points, which I could have done myself by using the code of disobeying a traffic control device. I asked him to get the points reduced to zero - non-moving violation - no matter how much fine I needed to pay. As I mentioned before, I have a CLEAN record except this citation. When the trial was over, he was like "You were speeding at 88 mph, which is close to 90. With this speed, they will have to give you SOMETHING." BLAMING ME for not achieving the goal he was supposed to help with? How professional. Why do you even hire a lawyer if he blames his client for the loss? This also sounded just like the trooper, who said similar things when giving me the citation. Obviously, while they were having conversation before my trial, the trooper's words may have gotten into him. Then he also said "It [whether my charge gets dismissed] all depends on the troopers." What the hell? Who doesn't know that? If whether you can win your case all depends on the troopers, why do you even bother hiring a lawyer? Rather, you can just call the number on the citation and talk to the trooper yourself, which I would definitely do next time. Also, maybe he could have mentioned this earlier before he bluffed that the trooper was someone he knew so well and made it sound like he could persuade the trooper so easily.

As a college professor at a local university I am disappointed in how you handled this review. You attended your summary trial initially alone and were found guilty because you believed you were entitled to a ‘break’ solely because you never received a prior citation. My review of your file reveals you were initially facing a minimum five point assessment. After you were found guilty based on your “entitlement defense’ you retained me to file an Appeal. This was based on not less than two lengthy telephone conferences and followed up by a case opening letter. After having prepared for your summary appeal hearing we attended same and you requested to speak to the state trooper again raising your ‘entitlement defense’. Although you were not happy that I instructed you to merely sit tight, I met with the state trooper and assistant district attorney and discussed your case. In weighing the strengths and weaknesses of the case you agreed in open court to accept a speed reduction culminating in now only a 2 point assessment. I trust you now understand why we chose this course of action instead of potentially being found guilty based solely on the fact you believed you were ‘entitled’ to a complete exoneration.

don't trust this bozo., your better off with public defender

i wouldn't trust this guy with 1 dollar. He was very interested in taking my case in the beginning and seemed very excited to win my case that first night i left his office feeling very confident about him and that he was the lawyer that i had prayed for. But After I paid my retainer fee. It seemed l...ike he was working with the prosecution, not me. He never built a good defense for me. He completely screwed me on my preliminary hearing never telling me what was going on just that I was waiting my prelimany hearing. I went before the judge and the judge said so you are waiving your preliminary hearing today and stunned I looked over at Breit and he nodded his head yes. After signing away my preliminary rights over he said that he got the one charge lowered to a misdemeanor. Later he sends me a cofidential letter to me in the mail stating that my best offer from the state is at minimum 12 to 24 months in state prison and that I also send him another 1800 dollars to stand next to me and look pretty in a bowtie I guess. Now this is my first time for everything and I had a very very good defense in my situation. Steven Breit sent the same confidential letter that he sent me, he also sent to the DAs office, stating my best offer from the state will be jailtime. ruining my best outcome for the case by doing so. A confidetial etter telling me my best outcome is prison and what charges they can use against me are you CRAZY? WHO DOES THIS?. So he basically helped the DA in prosecuting me, and he also violated our confidentiality agreement. I have reported this man for fraud and for breaching our confidentiality agreement that we had.he also was notified that after sending that letter to the DAs office the DA decided to take Breit's advice and raise my charge that was lower to an M1 back up to an F3. The DA notified Breit of their decision and told Breit that because they had changed it back to an F3 that I had the right to a new prelimanary hearing. And guess what, after I went with a different lawyer. Breit never sent me the email from the DAs office ensuring my best possible outcome in this case. So I basically paid Breit 1200 dollars to show up at my preliminary hearing and throw me under the bus get me to sign my rights over and then tell the DAs office our strategy in my case and then demand another 1800 dollars to hand me over on a silver platter to the DAs office. Bottom line if you love you family and you love you kids and you made a mistake and you want to be there for them or you want the best possible outcome i do not recommend you to go to this man for a criminal case. he hurt my case so bad. And what he did was unethical and unmorral. How do you sleep at night taking money from ppl that trust you to DEFEND them and do nothing. That is a very bad man. I know what I did was wrong but it wasn't violent and I didn't hurt anyone it was my first time being in trouble and I made a mistake, I owned up to my mistake and I am sorry for my mistake. all you had to do is say I'm sorry I just can't take you case, but because your wife works for WGAL and WGAL has such a strong stance against opiates which is what i got charged with delivery of(which btw if you were a good LAWYER you would have known was possession not delivery) instead you said oh don't worry don't worry he'll be fine to my wife and took my money and did nothing for me and did everything for the DAs office. The last time i came to your office you told me Im screwed and throw a paper in my face from another case of a man getting killed from fentanyl, I'm sorry that you hate opiates so much and thats all your stupid news station talks about but i didnt kill that man. If you hate drugs then why did you offer your services to be a criminal defense lawyer, you should have became a prosecutor for the DAs office

Although you possessed a loaded gun and synthetic fentanyl we attended your hearing and when the prosecutor reduced the felony gun charge to a misdemeanor, you were more than willing to waive your hearing. After you hired another lawyer the DA realized the plea agreement was too lenient and he reinstated the charges. At that point in time your new lawyer was aware of this. That is why you plead guilty to your charges last week. As far as an investigation about how your case was handled I welcome the opportunity!
