Biography
I am an experienced intellectual property attorney who moved my successful, Lancaster-based solo law practice to Saxton & Stump in 2023. I have been working in patent and trademark law for more than 20 years, obtaining numerous patents and trademarks for my clients. I approach my clients’ legal challenges from a personal perspective of an entrepreneur as the former owner, founder and only attorney at the former Law office of Steven O’Donnell, Ph.D. Using my former company’s “Create. Consult. Control.” mantra, I help businesses realize the value of their intellectual property and to protect it for the success of their company. I have secured patents for inventions as diverse as T-ball equipment for children, a bottle opener, a hydraulic stake puller, a continually operable separation centrifuge, a microbiological waste water treatment device and the chemical synthesis of a plant growth regulator.
In addition to the patents I have already helped my clients secure, I have dozens pending in front of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and also have a large portfolio of trademark registrations and applications under my management. Before I started my solo legal practice in 2009, I worked in cases of complex litigation, focusing on class actions, antitrust and intellectual property.
