Friendly, not in it just for money
John was super kind from the start. We met with three lawyers, and John was without a doubt the easiest decision to make. The other two lawyers we met with were clearly just pushing papers through the process and only cared about money. John didn't seem that way at all and walked us through every step of the process and even kept is updated the entire year it took to finally close our case.

Great Lawyer
Mr Hilla was very helpful in helping me through the Bankruptcy process as I was going through a divorce and it had me in a bad financial situation. Chapter 13 - John is a life saver!
John was excellent to work with during my 5.5 year (successfully discharged!) chapter 13. I had multiple plan modifications, but John handled each one, answering all of my questions, and greatly reducing my stress level. He was always honest and upfront about my options, outlining how each could affect the success of my plan. He was not afraid to push back on the trustee when needed, which helped a great deal. During the case, he remained in communication, performing a case audit twice a year to make sure everything was on track. Overall, the Chapter 13 case was financially difficult to get through; however, John made the process as painless as possible dealing with the court & trustees. I would highly recommend him to anyone thinking about Chapter 7/13.
