George H Margetas

I hesitate to even give attorney George Margetis a one star. He does not communicate at all. A letter was written by his office and a form was filled out to be sent to the Magistrates office in Dallastown. Not only was the defendant’s last name spelled incorrectly, there were spelling and grammar e...rrors. Very unprofessional! l should have known then not to use him. In the parking lot, on the day that l had to go to court Attorney, George Margetis tells me that he is going to ask for a continuous. l said, “No”! l don't want to draw this out any longer. l wanted to go through with a trial. Attorney Margetas kept saying “trust me, this is for the best “. l later found out from him that he asked for a continuance because he had another court appearance! 60 days later we have our court date set for 1030. He rolls into the parking lot at 10:29. Attorney Margetis asked both defendant and plaintiff maybe five questions each while on the stand. Not sure he was even working for me. He expects to be respected, but does not show respect in return. l would never recommend Attorney George Margetas to anyone!

We hired George to help my teenage daughter with a traffic violation. My daughter was innocent. She had a clean driving record. There were two other teenage girls in our neighborhood who drove the same make and color of car and looked very similar to my daughter. I saw these girls speed through our n...eighborhood man times. He never strategized with us about how to present the case. In my opinion he was more concerned about making friends with the police officers and the judge and putting another case behind him. We ended up paying over a thousand dollars and my daughter got 5 points on her license. If this is the kind of outcome You want, go ahead and hire this guy.

I hired George Margetas for a DUI case in York, PA. I paid him upfront, on the agreement we were going to fight it. I never heard from him again, until the day of court (a yr later) in which he was late! Then handed me documents that said “Admission of guilt” he also kept confusing me with his “Ot...her Client” he basically took my money, never answered or returned my calls an lied to me. Total Crook an terrible attorney!

If you need an attorney that is attentive to your case and supports your process, Mr. Margetas is NOT the attorney you want to represent you. He does not listen to you and continually cuts you off mid-conversation and over talks when trying to explain anything to him. He lost original documents pro...vided to him for the case, he does not return phone calls or emails. I hired Mr. Margetas to represent my son during his custody case for over $3,000 and he spent less than 3 hours total representing my son. I drafted the custody agreement for him, I coordinated with the mother and her legal counsel, and mother's legal counsel filed the agreement with the court. We received no advice or representation from Mr. Margetas. He did not at any time reach out and schedule any appointments, it all had to be initiated by myself or my son. And without Mr. Margetas returning phone or email, all meetings were rushed at the last hour before any hearings. Mr. Margetas was not even capable of negotiations during the attorney-client pre-trial meeting, I had to do that as well in order to achieve resolution. I could have saved myself a lot of money and assisted my son acting on his own. Mr. Margetas took the money and did nothing. We now have another hearing for the custody and Mr. Margetas has not responded to any email or phone calls from the mother's attorney or myself. Save yourself additional stress and don't waste your time or money on this attorney, find other representation.
