They got the job done

Hired Mr Cairns in April of 2019. Due to a stubborn ex-spouse it took 6 months to get my divorce granted, which was no fault of Mr Cairns. The emails that I sent to his office (which is the best way to contact them) were answered by one of the rudest people that I have ever dealt with. Not only were ...they extremely sarcastic but whoever this person was (assistant, receptionist, paralegal, etc) did not bother to fully answer several questions that I had and it was left to me to Google several answers that I was looking for. Mr Cairns got the job done, but he needs to re-evaluate the staff that he has hired. Due to this I would not recommend his office.

Hi Julian, I'm sorry that you feel that you were treated rudely. I have carefully reviewed all the correspondence between my office and you, and cannot see where we were rude. We answered all of your questions promptly and professionally. Even with your spouse's delay, we were able to obtain your divorce decree for you withing the time-frame that we estimated. We do have an answering service that forwards calls to us. It is possible that you were asking them questions that they would not have been able to answer. As you know, once a case is started, the best way to contact us is through email, which is always free of charge, so I'm not sure why you would have had occasion to call. At any rate, I'm sorry that you had a bad experience, and while this is the first time I've had a complaint about them in over 8, I will certainly have a word with the answering service to be sure we are on the same page. Mr. Cairns was my divorce lawyer..and did what he said..I did not like if you had a question and wanted to talk you would be charged extra.. you had to email and I only heard from paralegals.. They are good but I would want to talk to someone

Hi Toni, I have to say that I'm pretty confused and bummed out. I really try to do my best for all of my clients, and I take reviews very seriously. I did the work you paid for and I was "good", but you gave me two stars anyhow, even though I told you up front that phone calls were extra in the Client Services Agreement. I never charge extra for any emails and questions are answered within one business day or often less. Unfortunately, I have to charge for phone calls because otherwise I'd have clients calling all the time and I'd have no time for new clients. Then I'd have to charge the big bucks that other attorneys charge. If you check with other attorneys, you'll find that they charge you for every email and phone call. I charge a flat rate and always answer emails for free. I hope this helps explain my position. I'm sorry that my best wasn't good enough. I thank you for your business, regardless.

MY DIVORCE WAS QUICK, EASY AND NO DRAMA. I AM SO GLAD I WENT WITH THIS LAWYER. I CAN NOT RECOMMEND THEM ENOUGH! I HOWEVER WILL MAKE A PROMISE TO NEVER NEED THEIR SERVICES AGAIN, BUT GLAD I FOUND THEM.

Total Joke

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!! These people are not good at what they do, at least not in my case. Call an attorney that actually help you, not file your paperwork, then violate law and leave you with no representation, without any warning, after you've fully paid for the services. This forced me to reta...in another attorney, at additional expense, and caused all sorts of issues with my divorce. If there were a way to give them ZERO stars, or less, I would. Terrible customer service to boot.

I'm sorry you are upset. Divorce is hard enough without additional stress. I know, I've been there. I can only think of two reasons why you'd leave such a poor review. First, you're not my client, and you left a review that was not for me. That's happened a few times. Second, your spouse ended up not being cooperative and as a result, we could no longer help you. That happens too. I am very upfront and honest about the type of cases that I handle: uncontested divorces where both parties are cooperative and willing to sign all divorce paperwork. I don't handle contested divorces for any reason. I provide limited scope legal services, not full-service legal services, and there's nothing illegal about it. It's actually how I can obtain a divorce for my clients for only $219 including court costs. Otherwise, I'd be charging the big bucks that other attorneys charge. Again, I'm sorry that you had a bad experience. I'd be happy to discuss your experience further if you'd like to contact me apart from this review forum.

Easy and Inexpensive

I had my doubts about how this process would work and in the back of my mind was prepared to have to hire a "real" divorce attorney and spend thousands of dollars. This was the best experience I could have hoped for in light of the situation. Everything went exactly as I was told it would. I wou...ld definitely recommend Mr Cairns to anyone who was seeking a quick no fault divorce.
