Refuses communication, social worker took months to begin basic paperwork, paralegal doesn’t seem to do anything.

Julian is consistently called the “gold standard” when it comes to elder law, estate planning, and special needs trusts. I felt like huge high price tag would be worth it for his supposed expertise, but I was extremely mistaken. My sibling and I hired him to settle an estate and create a trust. Julia...n unethically refused communication with me and only communicated with my sibling. It was particularly disconcerting because the trust was solely for me. He took five months to even start working on my trust making excuses about the estate taxes taking president. Meanwhile his paralegal or social worker could have at least done some initial basic work on the trust. Not only would no one work on the trust, but every single employee refused to communicate with months of formal requests for communication. When I finally received a draft of the trust they told me I should sign in a week, I found it to be basically a standard fill in the blank document that was extremely restrictive and not personalized at all. Charging around ten thousand dollars to fill in a grade school level document was beyond appalling . I had to find all the legal causes he needed to add myself to personalize it and create a trust that would ensure a good quality of life. I can’t find a lawyer to amend his trust as I read lawyers don’t want to step on each others toes. I’ve contacted over fifteen firms with a single response. It’s truly terrifying to be stuck with a lawyer who is failing at basic tasks.

Compassionate and Knowledgeable

Julian and his associates helped me through a very difficult situation. It was comforting to have the confidence in knowing that everything would be handled properly for my mother's care.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
