My name is John D'Onofrio, and as the founder of D'Onofrio Law Office, P.C., I have been providing clients with legal assistance for more than 37 years, always striving to professionally and timely serve my clients-the friendly residents of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania.
Through years of experience working in the legal field, I have gained insight and knowledge on a wide variety of estate planning and probate matters including, but not limited to wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills, estate settlement, trust settlement, special needs trusts, guardianship matters, asset protection, and elder care law matters. As such, I am here to provide the quality legal representation you need.
What sets me apart from the competition?
In 2010, I was graciously awarded the Jefferson Award. Established by Jackie Kennedy, this is a national recognition system honoring community and public service. I have the expertise and education to handle almost any estate planning complication, working hard to find effective solutions.
Attorney John A. D’Onofrio has been practicing law for over 37 years. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Mercyhurst University in Pennsylvania, and his Juris Doctorate degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston. Mr. D’Onofrio was an intern with the Harris County, Texas District Attorney’s Office in Houston where he served in the Misdemeanor Division presenting over 40 cases a day for plea bargains, hearings, and trials. He was then transferred to the Grand Jury Division where he presented over 850 cases to the Harris County Grand Jury. In 1985, Attorney D’Onofrio opened his own law office in Houston as a private practitioner. At first, he handled criminal cases, personal injury cases, bankruptcy cases, and estate and probate matters. After sustaining an accident in 1987, Attorney D’Onofrio moved his practice to Pennsylvania.
Currently Attorney D’Onofrio limits his practice to estate planning, asset protection, elder care law, special needs planning, trust administration, and probate administration. Mr. D’Onofrio is a regular speaker at Special Needs Planning and estate planning seminars. Attorney D’Onofrio maintains membership with the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Christian Legal Society, the Academy of Special Needs Planners, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce. He is licensed by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the Pennsylvania Insurance Department. After receiving this honor, Attorney D’Onofrio was featured in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
