I was sued by Capital One for an unpaid credit card debt. I received the notice and the hearing was scheduled for just days before the statute of limitations was up on the debt. I contacted multiple attorneys and they all said the same thing. That it wasn't worth my time or money to fight it. Either ...settle with them or get a judgement. I called the attorney for Capital One to work out a settlement. I offered over 50% on the debt as a lump sum. They wanted 100%. They would not negotiate at all. They were rude and condescending. Around this same time I received a letter in the mail from The J. Murphy Firm. They said they could handle the case for a flat rate of $500. I was skeptical. I read a few reviews online and figure for $500 it was worth the gamble. I sent over my paper work and his firm handled everything. They specifically told me not to show up for court. They sent an attorney on my behalf. I called up after the hearing and was told the case was dismissed and we had won. At that point the statute of limitations had run out and I was legally free of the debt. For a $500 fee they were able to prevent a $7k+ judgement. Hopefully I won't need to use them again. But if something comes up I know who I'm calling.

I contacted the J. Murphy Firm after receiving a letter form the firm advising me I had a hearing coming at a Magistrates office. I had no idea this firm was the lawyers for a credit card company. I had never been notified that there was going to be a hearing. After contraction the Murphy Firm I r...epresent me at the hearing they then notified me I didn't have to attend and they would take care of it. The Murphy firm did win the case for me. I was greatly relieved and appreciated them contacting me in the first place that there was going to be a hearing. I would highly recommend the J. I feel they really care about their clients and willing to go that extra mile. People need lawyers like these who truly care about them and their case. They kept in touch with me and gave me peace of mind that they truly would do their best. And their fees were reasonable which made it easier for a person on a fixed income as I am to be able to pay for legal help. More people who need help with legal council need to know about this firm. Joe is awsome! Joe and his team of attorneys helped me out with several junk debt collectors. These guys are the real deal. If you recieved a letter from Joe like I did the first time, I was a liitle skeptical, but they guaranteed there results. I used Joe three more times in lawsuits and he got a judgement in my favor on two and we settled with the creditor on the third for pennies on the dollar when they kept appealing the judgements in my favor. The J. Murphy Firm help me with a case where a third party debt collection agency had filed for a judgment against me for a debt that was several years old. The original debt was for about $500 dollars. The collection agency was suing for $3700, claiming interest and "fees". Mr. Murphy's fee to ha...ve this suit dropped was less than the original debt. Very reasonable.

I was kept informed via mail with copies of the court documents and the firm entering an appearance. The day after the hearing I called to find out what the outcome was. The Judge ruled in my favor. I checked the online Court docket and yes, I had won my case.
