Biography
William Mattar is the founder of William Mattar, New York State’s largest motor vehicle accident law firm. Inspired at a young age by his father, a lawyer in Western New York, William Mattar grew up watching firsthand how legal advocacy could help people through difficult times. That early exposure shaped his decision to pursue a career in law with a focus on helping others.
William Mattar earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 1986 and received his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law in 1988. After gaining experience at another law firm, he founded William Mattar in 1990 in Williamsville, New York.
While the firm initially handled a variety of legal matters, William Mattar now focuses exclusively on motor vehicle accident injury cases, including car, truck, motorcycle, and rideshare accidents. With more than 35 years of experience, he has helped build a firm that has represented tens of thousands of people injured in motor vehicle accidents across New York State. Today, the firm serves clients statewide with offices in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, and Albany.
In addition to his legal practice, William Mattar is deeply committed to community service. He is an Eagle Scout and has long been involved with the Boy Scouts of America, Greater Niagara Frontier Council. Since 2002, he has served as chairman of the organization’s annual dinner, helping raise funds that support programs benefiting more than 10,000 children. He is also active in his church and has held leadership roles in numerous civic and charitable organizations.
Outside of work, William Mattar enjoys spending time with his wife and children, cooking, hiking, and volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America alongside his sons, who have also earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
Helping people navigate the legal process after a motor vehicle accident has been the focus of my practice for more than 35 years, and it’s a responsibility I take seriously.

6yrs and nothing
6 yrs into this and no settlement. They said two years ago they were filing for a court date as of 1/23 they have not done so. Want to switch Lawyers. Would never refer someone there.

WORTHLESS
MY MOTHER WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT FEB 2017. WE HIRED THEM RIGHT AWAY. MY MOTHER PAST AWAY APRIL 2017. DUE TO ILLNESS. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THEM REGUARDING MY CASE. Replied last August 14, 2018We are not able to discuss personal details of the situation in a public forum, but there is activity on the file every month from the date of the accident to present and our team was trying to surmount obstacles. You refer to an issue of not filing soon enough but there were in fact circumstances beyond our control that contributed to the outcome. We hear the pain in your comments and our hearts do go out to you and your family. We would want nothing more than to see all victims fully recover and receive excellent compensation but sometimes the circumstances are not in the victim's favor. We have nothing but respect for your mother and your family.

Worst Experience Ever
I am beyond thoroughly disgusted with the way my case was handled and how I was treated by my "lawyer". What a joke
Clueless paralegal. Asked 4 times if I could meet William . Keep getting excuses. My case is cut and dry and stilll being dragged on . I regret calling this company !

Dodging my calls
I had an accident in October 2011. I suffered a broken leg. The other driver was delivering pizzas. We settled with one insurance company and then tried to settle with the pizza place.
