With an unprecedented jury trial record and a history of multi-million dollar verdicts —- Dustin L. DeVaughn loves trying lawsuits almost as much as he loves winning them.

On those cases that cannot be amicably resolved, he has extensive jury trial experience having litigated eighty-six (86) jury trials throughout Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma in both federal and state courts. Eighty-one (81) of those eighty-nine (89) jury trials have resulted in verdicts in his clients’ favor – a jury trial success rate of 91%!
DeVaughn’s jury trial successes also result in huge damage awards. Mr. DeVaughn has obtained several multi-million dollar verdicts including a 20 million dollar jury verdict in the State of Oklahoma and an 11 million dollar jury verdict in the State of Kansas — both record setting jury verdicts for personal injury cases.
Mr. DeVaughn’s practice is limited exclusively to the prosecution of personal injury and wrongful death cases where he is retained by individuals with catastrophic injuries or families who have lost a loved-one due to the negligence of others. Mr. DeVaughn’s 20 years of experience in personal injury law includes being retained by Fortune 500 companies, major insurance companies and trucking companies. Having experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in litigation allows DeVaughn to maintain a competitive edge very few other attorneys have the privilege of experiencing.
DeVaughn is an Oklahoma native with his legal practice based in Wichita, Kansas. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas in 1991 and his joint Juris Doctorate and Masters in Business Administration degree from Washburn University School of Law in 1994. He is one of the founding members of DeVaughn James, LLC; is on the Board of Governors for the Kansas Association of Justice; and is a member of the Kansas and American Bar Association.
