Horrible attorney
When I bought my first home, I hired Marc Miller to be my attorney. The crooked seller did the final walk-through with me before closing. A purchaser, buying a pre-existing home must rely on their building inspector to determine the physical condition of the property & its systems. I cant just get a new furnace for a client after closing. There is no warranty by a seller, except for new homes. If the inspector was negligent, they may have a claim against their inspector. There is no claim against a seller for later failures or defects discovered unless there was fraud. I understand the buyers frustration. A furnace failing a short time after closing is not a great way to begin home ownership. I advised them correctly & accordingly. I did not blow them off, but it was not what they wanted to hear... They wanted a new furnace and there was no way I could get them one under these circumstances.
