I hired Mr Wellner to help with a matrimonial issue where my ex-spouse squandered her retirement leaving me nothing. The technical part of this was she resided in Tennessee and was in the process of filing her second bankruptcy. Mr. Wellner was able to navigate the Bankruptcy Court in Tennessee and... move to lift a stay on filing any actions against my ex-spouse. That proceeding is almost complete anticipating success so we may proceed in NY. Mr. Wellner has always responded to emails in a timely manner and has always answered any questions and calmed any concerns I’ve had. Additionally, his billing process is transparent and accurate. I received the latest audit of my bill and to my surprise, I have a sizable credit. My comment to Mr. Wellner was I felt he did more work than what he’s billed me for.

This was the best legal experience I could have imagined. I’m incredibly appreciative of Philip Wellner. I was hit with a sudden divorce—realized on April 28. I reached out May 5, was contacted May 6, and he began even before I had the retainer. By May 13, after I paid, he’d already drafted the case!... On May 21, I asked for edits—he heard me, advised me, and we talked it through. That kind of openness and willing to collaborate with a legal advisor is rare. By May 24, everything was signed and submitted! A signature I forgot was included June 11, and when I checked on June 16, the case had already been sent to the judge—he’d even gotten it on the roster back in May! Divorces can take 6 months to years. Mine was drafted, signed, submitted in a month. ONE MONTH. He always responded same or next day, oftentimes following up with me. Phil was recommended to me by a previous employer when I needed assistance for my child custody and support case. He is very personable and does care about my family. We are still in the middle of working together but I appreciate the work he’s done so far, it has allowed me to have maximum time with... my daughter. I do believe Phil needs to improve on his consistency of communication and turn around time as there would be days I would request follow up & there would be gaps. We have had honest talks about this and he has greatly improved since as we are now hopefully working on settling outside of court, but I would continue to use him as he has been familiar with my case for the last 2 years.
