I am intellectual property attorney with more than a decade of experience across the spectrum intellectual property law, including procurement, commercialization, and enforcement.  I also have several years of general practice experience, including corporate, business and civil litigation practice that give me a broader perspective of the legal landscape that intellectual property occupies. I am therefore particularly equipped to advise clients at all phases of IP law, with an understanding of how my advice influences my clients’ rights across the entire spectrum of issues that may be encountered, particularly in the commercialization and enforcement of IP.  I also have finely honed technical-analytical skills stemming from eight years of actual engineering experience with General Electric.

I provide professional service in a professional, yet relaxed atmosphere.  I am available 24/7 and provide highly personal service, forming loyal and lasting relationships.  I care about my clients and take care to familiarize myself with their businesses so I can best provide quality legal counsel.

A Talented and Tireless Litigator
I recently hired Mr. Palmateer in a Federal trademark dispute case in which I was the defendant. First of all, Lee is very personable and an excellent communicator, which I have found to be qualities lacking in some attorneys. He is diligent about returning phone calls and e-mails and is scrupulously honest in his billing practices. He is, in short, a credit to the legal profession. But don't let Lee's unassuming demeanor fool you, he excels as a litigator. In fact, he is a litigator of uncommon ability and judgment. I have found him to be tenacious in pursuit of his client's best interests, and I would not hesitate to recommend him to someone in need of a seasoned intellectual property attorney. I credit his expertise and hard work for the amicable end to my case.

Couldn't be happier!
I had been sitting on my business trademark for years knowing I need to secure an official trademark but clueless on where to start. I was seriously considering using an online legal filling service but very uncomfortable with the unknowns and completely overwhelmed by the process knowing there was much more that had to be considered. A colleague recommended I contact Lee. It was the best move I could have made. I called his office and he got back to me immediately. He listened very carefully and answered all of my questions to complete satisfaction. In all of our conversations I felt like we were communicating as equals. There was no condescension whatsoever. All of the fees were presented in detail and I completely trust his judgement. He is timely with any follow up issues and clear about deadlines and the consequences in regard to my application for not meeting them. I highly recommend Lee Palmateer and look forward to working with him in the future.

Ownership of Trademark
I used Lee Palmateer's help in resolving a very serious trademark ownership case. The case was as sensitive as it was serious as it involved family members. Lee's extraordinary research and development of this case produced a body of evidence that was overwhelming in support of our ownership of the mark. The result was an out of court settlement in our favor saving us substantial public discomfort with family members in a court of law. Throughout the entire process Lee's attention to our need to be kept up to speed on a timely basis and his ability to communicate the progress of the case as it pertained to the law was remarkable. Lee's considerable knowledge, work ethic and ability as well as his sensitivity of the situation make it easy for me to recommend his expertise in an intellectual property case.
