I was going through a messy divorce and had hired a male attorney who did nothing for me and charged me a fortune. After almost a year of no movement, I fired that attorney and hired Laura who I found online from this website. I knew I should have hired a female to begin with!!! Laura met with me ...within three days of contacting her and within three months she had my divorce papers in front of the judge. She knew exactly how to proceed to get the best results for me. I hired Ms. Hoffman based on good reviews. Unfortunately, I experienced a very poor result for me in line with the very few bad reviews. Of course, this is a very difficult time in anyone's life going through a divorce. I came in trying to do an amicable divorce with my soon to be ex-wife, but ther...e was always a chance that it wouldn't go that way. The consultation seemed like she had my best interest at heart. Answered my questions. But, when it came down to executing that's where things fell apart. I did my net worth within 2 weeks of meeting Ms. Hoffman. Couple emails back and forth, then nothing for 3 weeks. It was not until I asked where things were as my wife told me her lawyer was very upset that Ms. Hoffman was dragging her feet and not following through with my side of the divorce. After I reached out I found out that she needed me to sign my net worth documents and never told me and sat on them for 3 weeks which is evident by my bill where nothing was done from 4/6 and 4/22(when I emailed her and was billed for asking why nothing has happened). when I asked her why nothing had gone forward she stated she was working but by her bill for that month, nothing had been done and so little that my wife's attorney summons me/her to court to get things moving. This was the moment I fired her and moved on to my new lawyer who also had to point out where things were incomplete that Ms. Hoffman forgot. In 1 week with my new lawyer, I am leaps and bounds beyond what Ms. Hoffman did in 6 weeks. It seemed like because I am a professional that money for her was her main priority. What was even more ridiculous is that I sent in all my tax documents via email to her for my net worth. Then she sent me a copy of all my tax documents (LOTS and lots of pages) via mail and charged me over 200$. SERIOUSLY, why did I need copies of my own tax documents that I sent to you in electronic form in the first place? WHAT a rip off and abuse of billing. Seems like she may be an okay lawyer but she is primarily a biller and will take her client to the end of time which of course cost you by the minute.
