When I retained Ms. Hoffman I felt like I was putting my fate, and those of my kids, in her hands. A friend told me she was the “go to attorney” for complex, lighted cases. Retaining her services was the best move I made. I was thrown out of my house based on my wife’s meritless order of protection, ...and my parenting time was suspended. Laura is an excellent attorney, one who was able to accurately assess and diagnose the situation (a very complex one) I was experiencing from the start. Moreover, she was able to utilize a proper approach and exercise both restraint and initiative while being proactive in a way not commonly found in... today’s legal or social culture. Her style of communication is also very “matter of fact” (a good thing) and simple in explaining the current situation, your vulnerabilities, what needs to be done, what can be done, and what is likely or possible to happen. She will prepare you for the worst while at the same time work diligently to ensure you end up with the best. I find this to be a great practice and operational model, especially when dealing with family law. Laura’s best quality is the willingness to both simultaneously trust her clients, while at the same time take the client’s need for protection very seriously. I feel this is a very complex dynamic to balance, yet she does a very good job doing so. In my case she successfully navigated and helped me navigate a difficult period in my family’s life. She was able to ensure that all parties involved were on the same page, she was able to utilize a soft touch in court when needed with preparation in place for any escalation that could happen, and she was able to work with other attorneys (who I feel were nowhere near as good or genuine) effectively and diligently. I could not be happier having Laura Hoffman as my attorney. While she was retained for my case, I found her to be extremely professional, knowledgeable, approachable and willing to assist me in any way throughout the process in and outside of the courtroom.
