Rovshan Sharifov, Esq., is a highly experienced criminal defense attorney and the founding partner of Sharifov & Associates, PLLC. With a career spanning over 23 years, he has built a reputation for providing aggressive representation in both state and federal courts across New York City and Long Island.
A key differentiator for Mr. Sharifov is his background as a former Assistant District Attorney.
Having prosecuted both misdemeanor and felonies, he possesses an "insider" understanding of how the government builds its cases and where the tactical weaknesses typically lie.
Mr. Sharifov is known for a "chess-player" approach—literally, as he is a professional-level chess player—carefully calculating several moves ahead in litigation to secure dismissals or favorable plea deals.

FACTS!
Mr. Sharifov was more concerned with money than he was for fighting for my innocence. He charged a $4000 retainer fee, and asked for an additional $6000 for trial, for a B misdemeanor. He put in a couple of motions that he said would NOT be granted. He filed a motion to withdraw as counsel for me o...
This review is far from accurate statement of facts. Client who posted this review failed to disclose to the reader the following: That I represented him for 1 year, that I appeared in court 10 times, fought very hard to get him a reduction of charges and resolve the case without a trial which included investigation of the case, submission of discovery demand motion, witness interviews, several motions to dismiss the charges, suppress and preclude evidence in the case and replies to prosecution's oppositions, numerous conferences with assigned prosecutor, meetings with a supervisor, hearing preparation, conferences with the court, and many meetings and discussions with the client about the status of the case. Despite all of the work that has been done on this client's behalf, prosecution did not make an offer. It was, perhaps, due to a prior history, the nature of current charges, and wishes of the complainant. The next step in this representation was a trial. This client knew from the outset that he may not qualify for any offer in this case. However, this client could not understand that the strength of prosecution's evidence and credibility of their witnesses can be challenged only AT TRIAL and not simply by telling the court a different version of events. This client wanted me to conduct a jury trial without any compensation as pretrial part of the representation (that lasted one year) has ended. In his review he calls a jury trial simply "hearings" as this is a minor work. With respect to attorney-client privilege, nothing was disclosed to anybody. Submission of the motion to the court to be relieved as attorney based on the fact that the client fails to cooperate with attorney and fails to comprehend the process has nothing to do with the facts of the underlying case. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to conduct pro bono jury trials on behalf of clients who think they deserve a free legal representation just because they think they are not guilty.

Lawyer to the stars
Amazing lawyer. Took the time to sit with my friend and I, and carefully select the best plan of action for our charges. Efficient and highly reliable, he was at work from the moment we hired him to the moment the charges were dismissed, and is still helping. Couldn't ask for a better lawyer.
