After having gone with several lawyers to overturn my deportation order, I came to the conclusion that many lawyers only wanted the easy cases so that they wouldn't have to put in so much effort since none of them wanted to take my case. And all told me that there was nothing they could do; that the case was too difficult and that they were shocked that I hadn't yet been deported especially when looking at the fact that I had committed two felonies and spent eight months in jail. They told me that there was no way anyone could help me but since it's God who gets the last word, I met George Terezakis. In effect, he told me that the case was a hard one but that he would do everything on his behalf to help me. His words gave me the certainty that he was the man God put in my path to get me out of the shadows of deportation and after years of effort, fighting, professionalism and dedication the results finally paid off. The government and the judge decided to agree to close my case. For that I would like to sincerely thank Mr. George Terezakis for all of his help and for giving me the opportunity to watch my children grow and to some day see them graduate from college, and to be by their side. That has been my dream my entire life. I would like to also thank father Kelly from the church of Saint Brigid in Queens for recommending Mr. Terezakis and his staff to me. They too were also key in our triumph in particularly Lorena A. Alfaro and Ms. Jennifer A. Williams, for they were always on point and may God bless them and all the staff in general for helping prevent splintering and separations of families. From the bottom of my heart Thank You! I hope you may never have a problem with neither the law nor the government, but if you ever find yourself in such situation I would recommend George Terezakis. He's truly a very effective and dependable attorney. Perhaps what he did for me he may do for you, that is, help you out a lot. Not only is he a Criminal Justice lawyer, he's also an Immigration lawyer and better yet he is fluent in Spanish. (So no translator required!)

My father lived every single day limited, in dismay of making any prosperous long-term goals, fearing that one day, he would be deported for a mistake he did in his teen years. Mr. Terezakis changed that, he gave us a peace of mind. Other lawyers weren't willing to take the case, but Terezakis was the risk-taker. He knew it was going to be hard but was willing to represent my father, he was willing to fight for him. He worked hard to provide my father with that second chance. My family and I are so grateful and thankful for Mr. Terezakis' hard work, effort, and dedication to our case. Mr. Terezakis was always very respectful and caring; he also speaks fluent Spanish, which allowed him to personally speak and reflect upon my father. I would definitely recommend him to anyone trying to avoid deportation removal due to a criminal conviction. Mr. Terezakis and his staff were extremely supportive the entire time. Everyone is very welcoming, they are a united staff and demonstrate that they care for you.

George Terezakis went above and beyond for me. He carried my case for nearly 10 years, and obtained my freedom and legal status after a long complicated court case that other attorneys would have deemed hopeless at first glance. Throughout my battle with immigration and court, it amazed me how well respected and well known George was to my immigration officers, judges and fellow lawyers. After years of waiting for my immigration court verdict, I began to lose hope. I never thought I would be able to obtain my citizenship. I truly never would have ever thought this day would come and now, after 10 years of uncertainty, lawyer bills and more, George Terezakis made it all worth it for me. In April, my wife and I passed our second interview with our immigration officer. After 10 years of a complicated court case, George pulled through for me. Now, he is like family to me. George is someone I feel I owe my life to. He really helped change my life. That said, I highly recommend George Terezakis. His staff and paralegals were absolute delights and I never felt out of the loop with anything going on (unlike most other lawyers). This review is as genuine as they come, I hope people give George the opportunity to help them because I am the clear definition of a success story. Thanks.

I was able to help him avoid being deported and was actually able to help him gain his status as a legal permanent resident.

  • Speeding and traffic tickets greatly reduced

I received three tickets at one time while driving on the highway. One of the tickets was a speeding ticket, and I was facing 10 points on my license in total, along with over $1000 in fines. George reduced the tickets to lesser violations, and reduced the points and the fine significantly. He is a professional and I am satisfied with the result of my case.

I have known George Terezakis for about 25 years. When a problem arose that required a criminal lawyer, he was the first one I though of to take care of it and he did an absolutely superb job in every way. George took the time to sit with me, listened to everything I said, wrote memos for the Judge, intervened with the A.D.A., supervisor, and anyone else he thought of to try to settle the case. Ultimately the District Attorney would not settle the case and wanted me to plead guilty to the charge which I refused to do because I knew I was not guilty. Once the decision was made that we would go for trial, George did everything humanly, legally, and ethically possible to win the case, and it was a tough case. But thanks to George and only George I was found not guilty. I never had a moment's hesitation during the process which was long. He came to Court every time, the Judges, attorneys and District Attorneys knew him because his practice led him to that building regularly. I paid George for his services and he deserved every penny. His fees for what he did were fair and he never tried to increase the bill from his initial quote until trial, at which point he deserved extra money for unbelievable preparation and of course by winning. I must say that I believe the Judge (it was a bench trial, no jury) and the District Attorney wanted to find me guilty for a number of reasons, but by the time George finished the trial, handed in an updated memorandum in my favor, it was clear there would be no guilty verdict. George is a lawyer who zeros in on the problem. He knew exactly what to do and knows how to handle the case. His staff was lovely and either he or his staff always called back promptly. So thank you George, sometimes I honestly think you saved my life because I knew I was not guilty and regardless of what he thought he was an incredible advocate and never made any promises he couldn't keep. If you need a criminal lawyer, meet with him. You will be glad you did. I LOVE GEORGE TEREZAKIS!!!! (and I am married and so is he). He is a caring, very smart, very articulate counselor who deserves only the best in life. He does it his way within the confines of the law and ethics and I don't know if anyone else could have accomplished what he did.

I hired him, I paid him what he asked, an he send somebody else on the court day. Whoever the substitute was he just went 1 time to court and he settle my case leaving with a criminal record that I did not deserve; prevented me from becoming an American for long time and ruined the rest of my whole life.

George A. Terezakis’s response: “In nearly 30 years as a defense attorney, neither I, nor any attorney working with me, has ever recommended a client of mine plead guilty to a serious crime, at the client’s first court appearance. I handle most of the appearances involving my clients’ criminal cases myself, although an experienced attorney working under my supervision may make a preliminary, appearance on my behalf. I always, review with my clients the risks and benefits of accepting a plea bargain versus going to trial, including the immigration consequences of any guilty plea. I have always warned my clients of the immigration consequences of any guilty plea - long before defense attorneys were required to do so. In nearly every felony case, and most misdemeanors, I am the attorney who appears with my client at their first appearance. On the rare occasion where a scheduling conflict prevents me from appearing with a client at their first appearance –I tell the client of this before they retain me. Before any defendant can plead guilty, they are first questioned by a Judge who explains the crime they are pleading guilty to and the important rights they give up by pleading guilty, instead of going to trial. They are also asked whether they are satisfied with their attorney’s representation. The client is then asked to explain what they did that makes them guilty - all before pleading guilty. Neither I nor any attorney who works with me has ever forced a client to plead guilty. In fact, we often advise our clients to reject an initial plea offer that would cause immigration problems, because we can frequently negotiate an alternate plea that avoids those problems. If that is not possible, we discuss the risks of going to trial, and will go to trial, if necessary. Our clients always make an informed choice, but in the end, the decision to plead guilty or go to trial is theirs alone to make. I cannot believe one of my clients would plead guilty to a crime at their first appearance, and I cannot believe they were not warned of the immigration consequences of their plea. It seems the person is either leaving out relevant information or not accurately reporting what happened. Please call my office: I would like to speak with you, because this is the first I am hearing of your complaint.”
