Replied last January 08, 2015Dear Family Member of a Client, I am very sorry you feel this way. I invite you, with your parent’s permission, to review the file. You will then be able to see how many hours of work went into the consultations, the preparation, the drafting, the funding (transfer of all assets) of your parent’s trust, phone calls to investment companies, insurance companies, and banks, and recording charges. As the family member of a client, this may not be readily apparent when you are not involved from the first meeting to the final signing. In regards to the second trust, you may not be aware of exactly what the trust is funded with unless you see the file. However, I do not make frivolous recommendations where trusts go un-funded with no assets or a small amount of assets. In reference to the cost, we are a full service law firm and there are no hidden charges. I give the cost associated for all anticipated charges up front and we do all the funding/transfers into the trust. Please check what services are included in the cost quoted by other firms. Many firms only draft the trust and do not provide asset transfers into the trust. Client satisfaction is my priority. If there is anything that I could do, please let me know. Juliet Gavriel
