Megan is the owner of Waugh Law, a law practice specializing in trust, estates, conservatorship, and elder law. Megan works exclusively in trust and estates, and has been named a Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star in Estate and Trust Litigation for the past five years (2016 – 2020). In 2020 and 2019, Megan was named in Los Angeles Magazine as a Southern California’s Top Young Lawyers, and as a Top Southern California Up-And-Coming Lawyer in 2018.
Megan has reached multi-million-dollar settlements for her clients, as well as, represented a private professional fiduciary, in what was believed to be one of the most valuable Los Angeles County probate auction sales for $16.2 million.
Since 2017, Megan has served as a Court-Appointed-Counsel for the Los Angeles Superior Court representing individuals who face being placed under a conservatorship. Often times, these individuals are elders suffering from dementia and/or Alzheimer’s disease.
Megan received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana- Champaign where she graduated with honors. She received her Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine School of Law where she graduated cum laude. While at Pepperdine, Megan served as an editor for the Journal of National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary. The Journal also published her article: A Broke(n) System: Comment on the Supreme Court’s Decision to Rule on the Equal Access Provision in Douglas v. Independent Living Center and its Potential Impact on the Affordable Care Act.
Megan is a daily yoga practitioner, and she uses her practice to assist clients through challenges that often arise during the legal process. While serving as an officer on the Santa Monica Bar Association, Megan and her husband created an event entitled Yoga for the Legal Mind with the goal of bringing physical, mental, and emotional wellness to the legal community. They continue to hold these events.
