Heart and Service

I would like to recommend bankruptcy attorney Jay Simon. I hired him after reading the reviews here and noting that he had a reputation for providing excellent client service, accessibility, and personal connection. That was exactly what I was looking for. While that is all true, he is so much... more. He really stands out. He has been an answer to my prayers. Jay is one of those human beings that you meet in life, and you only meet a few, who is the total package as a person. To me Jay Simon is a gentleman who happens to be a lawyer and while most lawyers have a bad reputation for looking out for themselves and how much money they can make, Jay is the opposite - his clients come first. I have never met a nicer, kinder, more genuine person. You just look at him, and you smile. In addition, the cost for his unbelievable services is a bargain, as he is worth so much more than what he charged. His work on my case was diligent, to say the very least, and he made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. I was so relaxed working with him. He went out of his way to make things easy for me. I felt supported. Jay goes out of his way to be responsive to his clients. Jay does a great job of keeping the client well informed. Amazing instructions and well-timed phone calls are just the tip of the iceberg. He is a very thoughtful person. When my hearing took place, thanks to Jay, I was ready, and confident. He covers every detail with you and ensures that there will be no surprises. I highly recommend Jay Simon for your bankruptcy needs! I have never had a better service experience in my life. I know he really cared about my bankruptcy going smoothly and being successful and he really cared about me. I am genuinely grateful and fond of Mr. Simon. It has been a gift to have him in my life. I now consider him a friend, not just my bankruptcy attorney. Because of him, I now know that there are still good people out there.

Magical!

I am so glad that I chose Jay Simon. From our first meeting, I knew Jay would get me through this bankruptcy. He is such a sweet person. There is a kindness in his smile. He is a very comforting presence. He is so kind and supportive of his clients. He seems to truly care about the people he is... helping and want them to be happy and comfortable doing the bankruptcy. I was down and depressed and he was always encouraging and never let me put myself down or get down on myself. Having someone believe in me, it’s a small, but really, really big thing. Jay was very tolerant and kind to me throughout this process. You know he is, or would make, a good dad. I truly love this man. Jay Simon is the nice, perfect bankruptcy attorney. His spark, down-to-earth ways, his heart, his humor, just added to a positive bankruptcy experience for me. He’s just the best. He was magical. Jay, thank you so much for all of your expertise and warm compassion when you assisted me. You don’t know how much I needed it at the time. I will always refer you whenever anyone has the need.

You are loved by so many, and so much, and by no one more than me. –- River Song to the 11th Doctor

Just came back from my creditors meeting. I went with a group of six other clients of Mr. Simon. We all loved him! Everything went so well for all of us and we were all so grateful to him. So different from the other attorneys who did not show up themselves, or spoke rudely to their clients. Mr.... Simon was so nice to all of us. He met with us beforehand in his office, so that we knew what to expect, he reassured us that we had nothing to fear. One attorney, when each of his clients was done with their individual meeting, ordered each of his clients away from the table by snapping, “wait outside.” Doesn’t sound too bad, right, but it was more the way it was said; like a dismissive order. On the other hand, when we were done with our meeting, Mr. Simon warmly took each of our hands in both of his hands and said how well we did and if we wanted to wait, we could meet outside when he was done with the others. We all waited and all of the female clients hugged him. No other attorneys were being hugged. One woman, who said she had bad experiences with attorneys, was even crying tears of joy because she was so relieved and things went so well under his guidance. Jay Simon just has a way of putting clients at ease. As an example, during the preparation of my petition, Mr. Simon realized I was a Doctor Who fan (hence, the above quote). Mr. Simon used conversations about a topic we both liked, Doctor Who, to relax me while we worked on my petition. He also used down to earth examples to explain bankruptcy concepts so that I was able to relate to them. When he explained the bankruptcy stay protecting me from creditors, he used the shields from Star Trek; something I would relate to. (Can you tell I am a sci-fi nerd?) Anyway, Jay is a special person in my life and now has a special place in my heart (again, see the quote above). I just love him. He has one of the most caring hearts. He has incredible empathy when it comes to others. He is just a nice man, a phenomenal person with genuine warmth. You will never meet a better person. In addition, he likes Doctor Who, so you know he cannot be bad!

Beautiful Special Person

December 26, 2014 is the one year anniversary of when I first met with my bankruptcy attorney, Jay Simon. That the date is so memorable to me should indicate to you how I feel about Jay (he didn't want me to call him Mr. Simon, preferring for us to be on a more familiar and friendly first-name basis...). Jay is just a beautiful special person. You just know that he practices bankruptcy with love. He just has that spirit. A person of wisdom. A person of kindness. A person of caring. Jay is unbelievably adorable, so sweet and good. His demeanor is very relaxed and patient, devoting endless time to all of his clients. He is also exceptionally generous. You just know that he is not all about making money, his priority is helping people and their needs. I ask myself, how can one human being be THAT perfect? I'll never fully understand! Sometimes being the best bankruptcy lawyer ever, really is about the little things. He did so many little things that I called them, 'he didn't have tos.' Like engaging in a long, friendly phone conversation before our first meeting; meeting me on a day he was planning on taking off (the day after Christmas) in order to convenience me; not allowing me to call him Mr. Simon; playing relaxing music of my choice while preparing my petition; spending extra time working on my petition to make sure it was done right; explaining everything thoroughly in a cute, informal, non-legalese way; providing candy in his office; sending a ten page instruction letter following my filing, filled with every bit of information I needed to know and didn't think/know to ask; meeting with me in his office prior to the meeting with the trustee to review what would happen at the meeting; personally escorting me to the meeting from his office; encouraging, sweet, smiles and words; reminder calls prior to my meeting and to do the education course; rapidly responded to Emails; sending a seventeen page letter following my discharge filled with advice for life after bankruptcy with a handwritten note wishing me good luck and thanking me for hiring him; etc. etc. I don't want to say too much to give his competition ideas. Just know, my boyfriend also filed bankruptcy and, though he paid way more than me, he didn't get the same treatment and attentive service from the attorney he used that I received (that is why I went to someone else!). If I were ever in trouble, he’d be someone I’d turn to and so should you. Now it is the one year anniversary of our first meeting. Just two days ago, on Christmas Eve, with my bankruptcy over for months, Jay sent me a thoughtful Email note wishing me a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (just another in a series of 'he didn't have tos'). He is without a doubt one of the sweetest, most genuine people I have ever met. That is why I look back on December 26th so fondly: it is the day that I first met one of the best and most favorite people in my life. I actually consider him a friend, someone I plan on keeping in my life, someone I actually care about. I don't plan on forgetting "our anniversary" or him. I doubt most people remember the date they first met their bankruptcy attorney, but I certainly do. I consider it fate that Jay became my bankruptcy attorney. This review is my small anniversary "gift" to him, so that he knows how much I appreciate his generosity, caring, kindness, compassion, thoughtfulness, time, service, and, yes, friendship.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"I endorse this lawyer. Why? When you have a question, he gives you an answer as if you were across his desk so you understand the law, your options, and the answer to your question. Sometimes on AVVO we see answers to questions that in essence just say to see an attorney which is ok..as that is the ultimate answer. But this attorney will go beyond and try and fully and completely and in my view accurately answer it. Is that not the type of attorney you want? I would hope so and for that reason I endorse him."
