Jose Antonio Rodriguez

Jose A. Rodriguez has been admitted to practice law in the State of New York since 1978.  Shortly after passing the Bar and being admitted to Practice Law he founded the Law Firm Rodriguez & Leid, P.C. where he practiced until 2002.  In 2002 he founded, with his daughter, Alisa Fuentes, the law firm Rodriguez & Fuentes, P.C.  However, in 2010 Ms. Fuentes, was appointed Deputy City Clerk for the City of New York and Mr. Rodriguez scaled down the law firm and has a solo practice with a few Associates who work with him covering different areas of law in his General Practice.  With 36 years of experience practicing law, Mr. Rodriguez has always handled matters involving real estate law and matrimonial law with its complex issues of equitable distribution, support and custody.  He is also a certified Guardian and Court Evaluator and a Real Estate Licensed Broker.

Mr. Rodriguez received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He graduated Cum Laude and was awarded the Leonard E. Reisman Medal for Scholarship and Service. Mr. Rodriguez started his career in the courts as a Court Officer followed by a brief appointment to Court Clerk from 1977 to 1978. While working full-time at the Bronx Criminal Court, Mr. Rodriguez attended Seton Hall School of Law and obtained his Juris Doctor degree in 1978. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Rodriguez worked as a Staff Attorney with Bronx Legal Services before going into private practice. Mr. Rodriguez is admitted to practice in the State of New York and in all four Federal District Courts. He has argued appeals before the Appellate Division and has appeared in many trial courts throughout New York State.

Mr. Rodriguez has also taught as an Adjunct Professor at CUNY Bronx Community College and John Jay College of Criminal Justice.  In addition to his law practice Mr. Rodriguez also devotes time and effort as the Board Attorney for the ACACIA Network, Inc., a Latino based Network of community based organizations offering services in the area of health, housing and economic development.
