Claudia Slovinsky

Claudia Slovinsky is widely regarded as one of New York City’s top immigration and nationality attorneys. She has over thirty-five years of experience in the field and founded her firm, Claudia Slovinsky and Associates, PLLC, in 1980. The firm represents businesses, non-profit organizations and individual clients in the full range of immigration and nationality matters.
Ms. Slovinsky, in addition to representing clients, is active professionally in immigration law and policy issues and serves as a teacher, advisor and mentor in the field. Among her many professional and pro bono activities, Ms. Slovinsky serves as special counsel on immigration matters to the Disciplinary Committee of the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division, First Department, is on the faculty of the American Immigration Lawyers Association/American Immigration Council Litigation Institute and is a mentor in the New York City Bar Association's Immigration Mentoring Circle. She also serves as an expert in immigration law in the federal district courts and was on the steering committee of the Judge Katzmann Immigration Study Group, which is dedicated to finding solutions for the problems faced by immigrants who cannot afford counsel in removal proceedings.
In addition, Ms. Slovinsky is a past chair of the Committee on Immigration and Nationality Law of the New York City Bar Association. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild. She taught Refugee and Asylum Law at New York Law School for many years, is the author of numerous articles in professional publications, and is a frequent national lecturer on immigration issues, both to the immigration bar and lay audiences.
Ms. Slovinsky is herself an immigrant. She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and is fluent in Spanish. She graduated from Douglass College (Rutgers University) in 1972 and Rutgers Law School, Newark, in 1975. Prior to establishing her firm, she practiced immigration and housing law in various non-profit legal services programs in New York and New Jersey. She is admitted to the Bar in New York and New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits.

Avoid this person at any cost
I will not recommend anybody to work with this lawyer. Even so she is quite knowledgeable but her office and employees completely disorganized and do not have any knowledge. Another thing - she will charge you whatever she wants for work you never discussed and she charged me even for work that we...
