Mahir S. Nisar is the Principal at the Nisar Law Group, P.C., a boutique employment litigation firm dedicated to representing employees who have experienced discrimination within the workplace. Mr. Nisar has developed a stellar reputation for effectively advocating for his clients through his many years of practice as a civil litigator. Mr. Nisar's passion in helping people overcome adversity in life and in their livelihood, led him to train himself as a life coach with the Institute of Life Coach Training (ILCT). He routinely provides life coaching and executive coaching services to his existing clients as they collectively navigate the challenges of the legal process.
Mr. Nisar's firm's mission is to advocate for those that have been denied their civil rights on the basis of who they are. His vision is to cater to a socially just society in which people are judged by their character and skills rather than the color of their skin, religious beliefs, gender, sexual orientation, or a disability.
As a minority, Mr. Nisar is passionate about fighting injustices that people encounter in today's society, especially within the workplace and public accommodations. Mr. Nisar has represented employees at all levels including management-level executives. Mr. Nisar is passionate about helping people who have experienced discrimination within the workplace obtain justice through various methods, which include litigation through the Court systems, arbitration and/or mediation through adminstrative and alternative dispute resolution methods within the EEOC, NYSDHR, NYCCHR, and or negotiations with opposing counsel before any legal action is commenced.
As a trained life coach, Mr. Nisar takes the time to evaluate and assess the client's goals, discuss and analyze an effective strategy, and come to an agreed upon process with the client to move forward in obtaining a successful result. The successful result is not one which the attorney from the firm dictates, its one that the client desires and the attorney's fights for. Through every free consultation, Mr. Nisar takes the time to evaluate how he can help his clients once he has understood the context and his potential client's perspective on what happened.
Mr. Nisar graduated from The Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. While attending Hofstra University, Mr. Nisar focused on matters concerning civil and commercial litigation. After law school, Attorney Nisar joined a law firm in Queens County where he focused his practice on litigation matters within a variety of substantive areas.
Mr. Nisar is a sustaining member of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) and National Employment Lawyers Association NY Chapter (NELA-NY). Mr. Nisar is active in participating in a number of civil rights non-profit organization activities which serve individual rights. Mr. Nisar is admitted to practice law in all the State Courts in New York and New Jersey, as well as the U.S. District Court of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court Eastern District of New York, and U.S. District Court Southern District of New York.

Unprofessional with questionable work eithcs
Hired them 7 months for a wrongful termination case. My experience: - The attorney assigned on the case had little to no interest in pursing the case. To get in touch with the attorney would take several reminder emails pleading for a mere response. - The case was botched due to their careless ...
Receiving a negative review is always a difficult part of providing legal services to individuals who are experiencing very difficult circumstances within the workplace. In my years of practice and over 90+ positive reviews across various review sites, no one has ever stated that I am unprofessional or that I have a questionable work ethic. It is even harder for us to address the concerns of the individual when they choose to be Anonymous in writing such a negative review. In my years of practice, no one has ever said the things that this person has stated and clearly they didn't even work with me so I have no clue why they reviewed me this way. At no point did this individual ever reach out to me directly regarding any of the concerns they had; they never gave us an opportunity to even know what was on their mind regarding their experience working with the assigned attorney from our firm. Representation in an employment case is a collaborative effort between an attorney and client- when a client does not cooperate in providing us a timeline of the events that they dealt with, it is difficult for us to do our job. Revisions, edits, and what is relevant is a collaborative effort between both the attorney and client. Addressing the reviewer's main points: 1) We would have never taken their case unless we were interested in pursuing it. We reject cases everyday. I'd love to see the emails that went unanswered. We have a strict policy of responding within 24 hours and I would want to address this if this is true. 2) A case being botched indicates much more than carelessness. We have no cases that have been botched so I am really unsure how to address this. Routinely a client would like to add in every detail of their situation but as professionals we are trained to guide them in keeping things relevant for the Judge/Hearing Officers so that they do not drown the facts that matter. Revisions taking over a month is certainly unacceptable, especially when they are minor, so clearly something doesn't make sense here. 3) We have received no notice from this person or any other attorney taking their case or anyones for that matter at our firm. If this person would like to have a conversation about their concerns, I would be happy to speak to them to address their concerns. Our livelihoods are dependent on how our clients assess our services so we take this very seriously and we will do anything to help this person address their concerns. If you hired us you should at least give us an opportunity to do our job and if we dropped the ball, I will be the first to acknowledge it and work to correct it.
