Ended soon after long waiting with the USCIS

Thank you to Mr Grotas. Everything happened to the way he said when I contacted him. I admit I was hesitated at first but everything went smooth and he and his office were very helpful to end my case after long waiting. Thank you

disappointed

I was absolutely desperate wham I stepped in to the office of Mr. Grotas, Esq... That day me husband had been arrested by ICE officers. Mr. Grotas give me hope, although the case was complicated, he would be able to bring it to successful conclusion. He evaluated his services $ 15 000 and asked for $... 7 000 up front. I was desperate to save my husband's life that I was prepared to not only give him all my savings, but sell all my belongings as well. Mr. Grotas saw that I was willing to go to any length and sacrifice everything to help my husband and decided to “stretch” the situation in order to get more money out of me. After one week, before completing and filing “motion to Reopen” he asked me for another $ 5 000 just to keep my husband in the same jail. He was in no rush to send “motion to Reopen”, saying that he is missing some reports, all the while asking me to give him more money. At that point I decided to take the case to another attorney where I did not have to pay $ 5 000 and yet my husband was not transferred to another jail. When Mr. Paul Grotas was asked to release all paperwork pertaining to my husband's case, he did not bother to even answer for while. Purposely trying to give me a hard time he would not present all the papers that were required. He only filed Form I-130 and charged me $ 6400 for arranging one visit in jail with my husband and 2 appointments with me. After 7 month of asking for detailed account of his services I received a bill. Needless to say, I was shocked. Mr. Grotas, unfortunately, is not the first dishonest attorney that I has come across in my life, however, he is much smarter and shiftier. I feel sorry that he uses his talent and abilities only for personal gain instead of trying to help when he can.

I am very sorry that she had this experience. I exhausted every avenue of relief to help her husband. Unfortunately, I was scheduled to travel to Djibouti to help Yemeni refugees for one week. I instructed my office staff how to competently proceed with this matter while I was away. She came to my office and demanded to talk to me and demanded that all work be completed despite the fact that it was very complicated. My assistant tried to arrange for a conference call with her so that I could explain that the legal writing was very complicated. This was not good enough. A few days later I returned from Djibouti, and Ms. Janhashia found a new attorney. I tried to speak to her and her husband, but they refused to talk to me. I treat all of my client’s like family and I hope that my clients will continue to have realistic expectations based upon the information that I provide them and my availability to discuss their matters with them. Working with refugees is something that I am passionate about and I am sorry that Ms. Janhashia felt like I was not attending to her matter.

Great Lawyer

I met Paul while on detention. He told me that I have a good case for a release and in the time frame provided I was home with my family. My case is not over yet, but I sleep better a night knowing that he is my lawyer.

Best Immigration Lawyer in NY

I had the unfortunate fate of being detained by ICE or the immigration authorities recently and while in detention consulted with a lawyer who advised me to voluntarily accept deportation and that he would get me back to the US and my family with six months. He said this because he believed that I wo...uld be detained for a year or longer. Such a suggestion of leaving the US did not sit well with me and the thought of separation from my children, in another country, seemed unbearable. As a result I immediately went looking for a new immigration attorney and found Paul Grotas. On my first meeting with Paul he put me at complete ease and reassured me that he would have me out in no time and on follow up meetings the same message was conveyed to me. This positive response that I got from Paul really put my heart, mind and soul in a peaceful state. As it tuned out he was also representing other detainees whom had a similar high regard for him and the news was that he was getting people out of jail and back to their families. My case had complications but nevertheless on the first court appearance that I had( three weeks later) he was able to skillfully get me released. I can't thank him enough nor can my family.

Best immigration lawyer!

We hired Paul as our immigration lawyer for our brother and would not have chose anyone else. He attended every court date on time (earlier to be exact) fights every angle of a case, as well as informing the family every step of the way. He is honest about what the case is looking like but confident ...he will win which we did! Thank you Paul for bringing back our brother and if anyone is looking for a immigration layer I highly recommend Paul Grotas! Good luck ! Thank you again Paul for all your hard work.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"Paul is one of the most highly respected lawyers within the community of immigration lawyers in New York and around the country. He is a recognized expert on deportation defense cases, and frequently sought as a speaker by AILA and other lawyer associations. He is committed to defending immigrants in the most difficult deportation cases - those where the immigrant is detained because of criminal convictions, and has nowhere else to turn for help. Paul is also extremely generous in donating his time to mentor less experienced lawyers who reach out to him for guidance in handling their own cases (that would be me!). Paul has repeatedly been there to help me with a difficult problem in one of my cases when I have been stuck and under great pressure. His vast experience and learning makes him the go-to lawyer for clients and colleagues alike. Finally - he's a very nice guy with a great personality - you will always find him approachable!"
