Very unfortunate Immigration/Visa experience with Mr. Maggi

I signed a contract with Steve Maggi in 2011 to help me obtain a Visa to the United States for my wife. Having no experience going through this process, I trusted his experience and paid for his services in full. I was given a checklist in which I submitted ALL requested documents, some of which we...re lost by Mr. Maggi's office later in the process. I was not kept up-to-date as to the next step in the process, and became worried after waiting for approx. 6 months (May 23 to Nov 12) without having seen any real progress. At that time, I took it upon myself to contact the National Visa Center, who informed me they had not yet received anything about my case. This information was completely startling seeing as how I was being told by Mr. Maggi that there was nothing holding up the process. I then contacted Maggi to ask him what was going on. At that point, for the first time, I was told they were missing documents, one of which I had already sent to his office, another which was not on the original list of documents requested by his office. Based on his previous instructions, I had sent EVERY SINGLE document requested by his office months in advance. Seeing as how my wife was pregnant at the time, I asked if there was any possible way to expedite the process. After Maggi told me that it was impossible, I took it upon myself (again) to contact the NVC and was told my case could in fact be expedited due to extenuating circumstances. At that point, I dealt entirely with the NVC seeing as how I could not trust the lawyer I had contracted. I completed all the remaining steps of the visa with no assistance from Mr. Maggi. After all was said and done, I requested a refund for thousands of dollars from Mr. Maggi seeing as essentially no services were rendered on his end. He declined to refund me at all, and I discovered there was an arbitration agreement built in to the contract which only allows you to dispute the terms of the contract in the state of Florida. I decided to eat the cost rather than suing him for legal malpractice on the basis of negligence. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this lawyer to anybody trying to obtain a visa to the United States.

I believe that you may be confusing me with another attorney as the case does not match any fact pattern of any case I have handled. I have never lost my client papers or lost track of a case, nor failed to be quick in my responses or failed to advocate for my clients completely. Therefore none of the accusations are correctly attributed to me. I did at one time work with another attorney who did not uphold my high professional standards and these things could have hypothetically occurred under his watch, but certainly not under mine. I am very proud of my twelve+ years of satisfied clients and hundreds of successful cases that I have handled and my record speaks for itself. Anyone who lends credence to vitriolic, over-embellished and fabricated reviews purposely designed to destroy a professional's reputation will hopefully put equal weight on real, legitimate positive reviews and also with direct interaction with the professional. Sorry that your case was not handled to your liking, whomever it was that was actually responsible for handling it, if the case actually occurred at all.

Excellent immigration lawyer for DACA

Steve helped me file for DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). He was very thorough and detailed with the application. He is very knowledgeable and trustworthy and I felt I was in good hands the entire time. Because of his expertise, everything went as planned. We communicated very well and ...the entire process was very quick. Even after the application process, Steve has been available for any questions/concerns I've had. I would definitely recommend Steve to anyone who needs an immigration lawyer.
