Biography
I am a criminal defense lawyer by trade, having honed my skills as an assistant district attorney in the nation's third largest county at the beginning of my career. Currently, I represent clients in both federal and state courts in New York, on serious criminal matters.

My philiosophy is simple: I do not believe in telling a client what he or she wants to hear merely to get them to hire me, but rather, I tell them what they need to know. Often times, those two are not aligned with one another, but in the end you need to hear straight talk from your lawyer. Any attorney can sell you a bill of goods over the phone just to get you to hire them. I do not handle my practice in that manner. I handle every case as if it was my own case, or that of someone very close to me.
I put the necessary time in each case to ensure I know that case better than the prosecutor knows the case. I will conduct my own investigation by speaking with witnesses, going to the crime scene, and pulling the case law that will be helpful in your case. This is critical to a good outcome in your case.
Most cases are resolved without a jury trial, while others have no other option but to go to trial. Whatever the issue may be with your case, I will advise you as to which path is the best course of action for you.
While many attorneys may boast that all they do is go to trial on each and every case, the truth is that going to trial on every case would be malpractice, in essence. Not every case needs to go to trial, or would benefit the client from going to trial. In many cases I am able to get the charges dismissed, and my client has his/her life restored. Some cases are best worked out with a reduction in charges to a lesser offense, and some cases are worked out in a plea bargain. Those that don't fit those situations are typically set for trial.
I have tried more than 75 serious criminal cases to a jury, with a very good track record in trial.
As the managing partner of Greco Neyland, PC, I oversee the east coast office, representing clients in all 5 boroughts of New York, as well as Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties.
I am a father of 2 children, so I know how parents think when they come to my office to seek counsel for their child who may find themselves in the crosshairs of the prosecuting branch of law enforcement.

Replied last April 22, 2021I normally don't reply to any review, and as you can see from the 99.9% of my reviews, they are all GLOWING reviews of our work performed on the client's behalf and there is no need to reply. In this case, you are reading a complete fabrication - a paragraph filled with nothing but lies. I am sorry that I am not more powerful than the Covid-19 Pandemic and this client's case was delayed during the pandemic like so many others. I wish I had the ability to cure Covid-19 so the cases would not be delayed, but that is simply not the case. This client was updated EVERY SINGLE TIME we had court. She is confusing me with one of the several attorneys on the case before me (I should have known by that alone what I was getting into). This is not a case that motions were to be filed on and she knows that because we discussed it no less than 10x. Other pre-trial documents were filed on her behalf and not only does she know this, she has a copy of them because I sent them to her. Her case is literally a step away from being dismissed and she had the audacity to complain that it was not happening "fast enough". I hate that we now live in this cancel culture where anyone can say whatever they want to say without any proof whatsoever. I have the proof to back up everything I did and everything in this reply. Does she have the proof to support her mountain of lies? I stand behind the work I have done for my clients for the past 15+ years. I am sorry that I cannot make every client happy 100% of the time. I wish I was superhuman, but I am not. I am sorry that I cannot make global pandemics disappear and allow cases to move as they normally would. If I could have done that - I would have.
