I recently received my E-2 visa for my start-up consulting business in US. Ian and his firm provided the crucial help in the success. Ian made his services different from many other agents in the market. First of all, he is very approachable which was the first impression I got when I made my first call to his company. Second, he as well as his colleagues are very familiar with the true requirements about E-2 visa. I carefully talked to at least 5 different firms including a few hr long consultations before I get connected with Ian. Their knowledge on E-2 visa really helped me a lot during the entire preparation process. Thirdly, they are very serious about their work and carefully reviewed every single piece of document I sent to them. Overall, I was very happy about the excellent services provided and would fully recommend Scott Legal to any of my friend who might be interested in the E-2 visa down to the road.

This is a glowing review for Mr Ian Scott. He is a dedicated, honest and very knowledgeable attorney. Mr Scott responded promptly to my inquiries and requests in regard to my immigration case, and his team and him worked quickly to deliver results for me.
I felt confident and trusted when I was working with Mr Scott on my case, and I would certainly turn to his firm again.

From the initial phase of my case through to the conclusion (a decision strongly in our favor) Ian was on top of everything. He listened attentively when it was time to listen, and he spoke assuredly when it was time to speak. What was perhaps most impressive about Ian in the preparation phase was his strategic clarity with respect to the aspects of my case that were to be focused upon, and those that were not. He guided me through a simple, powerful plan of communication. I was thoroughly prepared for every single question that I would be asked, and yet at no time did I ever feel intimidated or overwhelmed. I felt confident. I felt ready. Ian explained the process, the strong points, the weak points, and the points that could be taken either way. Ian researched the entity that was on the other side of the case as well as all aspects of the proceedings that might come into play. He told me how he would direct the aspects of the proceedings that were within his power to direct, and he told me different ways in which he would respond when it came to cetain things that are beyond the direct contol of any lawyer (such as possible things that may or may not be introduced/claimed by the other side). It was most comforting to hear the depth with which he had thought things out. And I loved that while he had notes, he wasn't constantly referring to them, as he seemed to have memorized everything! He had notes, but he was clearly ready to go without them.
As the actual case played out, it was impressive to experience things taking shape precisely as he said they would. During the case, there were moments when I had to hold back laughter, as Ian's style of communication was what I can only describe as devastatingly minimalist... On one hand, he gave the opposition absolutely nothing to work with, and on the other hand, when he did make a point or ask a question, it was done in such a way that the opposition was damned if they did and damned if they didn't... Almost anything they could have said in response would have sounded bad, and yet if they said nothing at all then that would have looked even worse. It got to the point where the opposition actually began nodding in agreement/concession when certain points were made by myself and/or Ian. The opposition had been thoroughly outplayed, particularly impressive seeing as how some aspects of my case could have been interpreted in more than one way. From the beginning and with a very concise delivery, Ian was able to establish and reinforce an interpretation of the facts that was advantageous to our winning of the case. Simply put, via preparation, expertise and his ability to deliver when things actually got under way and the pressure was on, Ian was brilliant.

After my initial consultation with Ian, I thought he's either a very good actor or a rarity in the legal profession. In a world where lawyers generally have a slick reputation, Ian has shown to be compassionate without the sanctimonious approach or over inflated sense of self importance many attorneys can present. He approaches the profession with reasonable fees, as well as being a great listener, and a consummate gentleman. Adding his Harvard Law Degree and Wall Street experience to the mix, it's a pleasure to recommend him.

My wife and I are Canadian citizens living in Texas and we love it here!!! We were sent here on an L1 work visa through her Canadian company in 2011 when they decided to open an office just north of Dallas. We kept extending the L1 visa to its' maximum of 5 years which came to a conclusion just a few weeks ago. Back in the spring, we contacted Mr. Scott for a consultation to find out what we needed to do to open our own business and apply for an E-2 visa. Mr. Scott and his team were fabulous and hired shortly after the initial consultation and held our hands all the way through to our approval on August 5th. I can't believe that we were able to make this happen and both my wife and I are ecstatic that we've been approved for a full 5 years and look for to see where our business takes us!!! Ian, Kelly and Angela.....Thanks again for everything.....We could not have done this without you!!!

As a Canadian, I hired Esq. Scott for my E-2 visa application, as well as my company entity setup and the writing of my business plan. Him and his did a wonderful job putting each and every detail together, especially for my visa application, and I felt very well prepared going in to the interview with the Consulate. I had a very well organized application and solid supporting documents for everything, and ultimately my application was approved. I must say that I saw many business owners go in to the interview at the consulate that day and I witnessed first hand the importance of being thoroughly prepared, and I was thankful I had decided to have a professional put together the application for me.
I was also extremely pleased by how quickly I would receive a reply every time I emailed a question or voiced a concern, and although most of our interaction took place via email (as per my request), we set up several phone meetings throughout the application process to discuss important decisions, and also to prepare me for the consulate interview.
I have nothing but positive things to say about Esq. Scott and his team and I warmly recommend them to anyone seeking legal assistance with immigration.
