To say Mr McAdams is rude is just the tip of the ice berg. I expressed that I was keen to retain him for my landlord tenant matter. I had two consultations with him for which he demanded cash. He would not be transparent as to if he would take my case , putting one in the position to feel they are be...ing strung along , and that one who thinks they are a prospective client for Mr mcAdams is nothing more than an ATM machine . Mr mcAdams refuses to answer any questions you may have , and becomes irate if you simply speak. He is working in a train of thought that jumps around and although one does their best to keep up & pull up documents at the speed in which he demands, is simply not good enough and he will not hold back to express his dissatisfaction. A simple answer to his question “ where is document A?” “ I sent it” he will make commentary that you are being curt. Funny since at the last consultation in which I gave him $500 in cash, after one hour he was done- becomes irate if one tries to speak- will not even muster basic perfunctory pleasantries- but happy to tell you “ I have Yale professor who wants my advice” and then just starts dialing the phone. What is the point of pretending you are one of the good guys, “ I don’t do evictions” , as he said to someone on a phone call he picked up, ahem, during our consultation. Is there a discriminatory element here I wonder, as I am a woman? I would stay away from someone, anyone who thinks this an appropriate way to treat prospective clients. The desperate milieu at housing court seems to turn those who maybe started out with good intentions , to the very thing they allege they are fighting.

I have known Jeff for years, as he shared an office with my attorney. He always seemed to be advocating for people in bad spots. Over a week ago I asked my attorney for his contact information as I have an issue with a storage unit that is leased in my building. Today is Friday and when I called t...o tell them I needed his help he told me it would have to wait until Monday. I included him on a copy of an email exchange - he called me back and told me he needed to respond immediately. He took that initiative and I am looking forward to a positive outcome. That kind of response is what you need in an advocate.

When I received an eviction notice, I was very nervous that i would lose my apartment and have to move my children into different schools. I worked with Jeff and he was AWESOME!! Jeff kept me updated throughout the process and he won my case!! I HIGHLY recommend Jeff to anyone in need of a diligen...t lawyer in NY! Thanks Jeff!

Jeff McAdams is AN OK ATTORNEY who is personable, caring, and professional, and who will represent you in a satisfactory manner. This Ivy educated barrister is a one-man show who is professorial in personality and style, generally trustworthy, but more of a negotiator than a litigator. A big possible... problem with Jeff, however is that he is notorious for NOT returning phone calls to clients in a timely manner, and quite frankly, hopelessly lost and/or forgetful in tracking his cases without his able assistant. BOTTOM LINE: CLIENT BEWARE: If you can put up with unanswered messages left at his office, not being informed of the progress of your case, and wondering when work is going to be finished, then stick with him, otherwise out of frustration you'd be wise to find an attorney or law firm that is better able to be more attentive to your legal needs.
