Biography
David E. Waterbury is a 1980 graduate of Brooklyn Law School. He was admitted to practice in New York in 1981. Since that time he has devoted his professional life to representing the rights of injured people.
David’s first five years in practice were spent learning from some of the top lawyers in the field while working at the largest personal injury law firm in New York. In subsequent years David spent time working for nearly 10 years for the legendary firm of Fuchsberg and Fuchsberg. From 2001 to 2009, David was a Founding Partner, Litigation Manager and Senior Trial and Appellate Attorney for a small boutique firm representing injured people in Forest Hills, Queens, New York.
Since 2009, David’s practice has consisted primarily of trying cases “of counsel” for other plaintiff lawyers and law firms. David is frequently consulted by other lawyers on issues of case development, preparation, strategy and trial tactics. David’s expertise, skills, knowledge and opinions are highly sought after by other attorneys who wish to bring the highest level of professional ability to bear inthe representation of their injured clients.
As a trial lawyer, David uses the latest in courtroom and presentation technology in order to create a compelling and persuasive narrative of his client’s case which holds the jurors’ attention from opening through summation. David also utilizes the most highly qualified and experienced experts in the presentation of his clients’ cases.
David is a life member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum - The Top Trial Lawyers in America.
During his nearly 30 years in practice, David has obtained numerous multi-million dollar awards and settlements for his clients. David is a past member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. He also is a past chair of the Association’s General Tort and Practice Committee and sits on the Association’s Motor Vehicle and No Fault and Partnership for Justice Committees. David is a long-time member of the American Association for Justice. David also lectures on matters of legal practice and procedure to other practicing lawyers.
